Synopsis[]
Liko, Roy and Dot are shopping in Tetsuron Town, a town famous for its industrial products, when Dot gets separated from the other two. While going around on her own, she encounters a Tinkatink, a Pokémon said to pound iron scraps together to make a hammer. It seems the Tinkatink is interested in a certain something Dot has.
Episode plot[]
A Nidothing live-stream was about to play, until Dot closes off the video because of an explosion in the background, forcing the stream to be cancelled. Liko notices and hurries over to Dot's room and bangs the door to find out what happened, before entering her room herself. After noticing the Nidothing costume being chucked, she suddenly covers herself in panic after being illuded by seeing another person inside Dot's costume. The computer in Dot's room breaks down.
Friede announces that the team will be heading to Steelbound Town to "stop and re-supply", which excites Orla. Dot makes an urgent call for the team to by a certain microphone. Though Liko doesn't understand Dot's message clearly, she suggests that they go into town together, which flusters Dot.
As the Olivine parks in the Paldea Desert region, the team exit, with Dot appearing out of a different door which confuses the team.
At the town, Dot already has the item she's looking for in her shopping bag. They then head over to the vintage shop, where Dot finds and purchases a microphone, before losing sight of Liko and Roy. Just before she was able to contact them though, they overhear an angry male worker, and agree with Quaxly to go together. The worker is trying to take his hammer back from a wild Tinkatink, which ends up with him pushing the Tinkatink to the ground and walking away, causing it to cry and drop its own hammer to the floor. Dot offers Tinkatink's hammer back, which it snatches angrily. Tinkatink notices Dot's recently bought prop and grabs it, which panics her, before aligning it to the ideal shape with its own hammer. Dot scans the Pokemon with her Pokedex, before realizing that the Tinkatink is making a hammer with Dot's microphone. Roy calls her from a distance. Dot and Quaxly leave the Tinkatink alone and come to Roy and Liko, accusing them of running off, before Tinkatink becomes satisfied about the completion of its microphone-turned hammer, before trying to find Dot to thank her.
The heroes return to the ship. Murdock hails Dot for going into town and purchasing something on her own, before Dot pushes him back for "over-doing it", before suggesting hosting a party for her triumph. Meanwhile, a digging across the ground is caused, causing the hook of Ludlow's fishing rod to come loose.
In the basement, a shadow causes the Maushold to become scared and run away, before the scaffolding components come loose. Orla investigates the basement of the Olivine in order to repair something, before screaming in horror at the bent and broken pieces of metal, becoming angry at the team. Dot feels one of the bent metals, and suggests that it could be related to an event that happened earlier.
Meanwhile, Tinkatink, using Dot's new hammer, explores the top of the ship, bumping into Alolan Muk and getting frightened by it, hurring over to the engine room, where a group of Fire-type Pokemon scare it off. Dot finds a hole in the Olivine's wall and wonders what's been going on, suggesting that another Pokemon may have done this. Inside the Olivine, Tinkatink gets frightened by the shadow of Orla's two Pokemon, running away again. Tinkatink's crying soon becomes noticed by Dot and Quaxly, leading them to agree that Tinkatink is in trouble. Dot grabs the Tinkatink running down the bottom of the stairs, the same one that turned Dot's microphone into a hammer, which the Pokemon shows. Dot realizes that all Tinkatink wanted to do was to show her its hammer it created, crediting it for its creation, which pleases the Metalsmith Pokemon.
Liko, Roy and their Pokemon overhear the noise in the basement and becomes curious about the Pokemon currently with Dot. After Dot mentions that Tinkatink's passion is metal, Murdock joins in and accuses the Tinkatink of stealing the ship's metal. The Tinkatink becomes frightened and runs away again, forcing everyone to go after it, which soon alerts Friede and Cap. After Tinkatink becomes surrounded in the basement by everyone else, it cries, until Dot comes in and protects Tinkatink, reassuring the other members that the ship's metal has been stolen by a different Pokemon, before explaining why Tinkatink came to see her, and that the hole was caused by a different Pokemon, and mentioning that that Pokemon is "the real thief". Friede arrives at the basement, agreeing with Dot's thoughts, confirming that the metal was eaten rather than stolen thanks to the recognizable chew marks on the broken metal pieces, and that Tinkatink does not eat metal. Dot breathes a sigh of relief and reassures Tinkatink.
Just as Friede was about to announce the true criminal, an explosion is caused behind them, revealing to be an Orthworm which has been tied by Ludlow's fishing rod. It breaks free of the strain and pounces, frightening everyone including the Tinkatink, which drops it hammer, allowing the Orthworm to steal it and cause a hole in the floor of the basement. Tinkatink agrees with Dot that they'll help to get its hammer back. As Dot's team drops down, the Orthworm ate all the Olivine's anchor chains, causing it to start tipping over. Dot orders her Pokemon to combat the Orthworm, while Friede and Charizard tug the ship back up, rescuing it from tipping over. Dot then requests Quaxly to user Water Gun on the sand to lure Orthworm in, which intrigues the other members. As Orthworm is eventually lured in, a Quaxly Pound causes the Orthworm to drop Tinkatink's new hammer. Tinkatink catches the hammer and slams Orthworm with it, causing it to faint, and the others to cheer. The Orthworm retreats, while Dot commends Tinkatink for its performance. Tinkatink celebrates by raising its hammer high.
At sunset, Liko and Roy apologize for their actions toward Tinkatink, and reassures them that nobody should be taking others' hammers before returning to the ship. Tinkatink becomes upset at Dot's departure, and soon requests her to join her on her adventures and the Rising Volt Tacklers. Quaxly recognizes this and gives her a Pokeball, which confuses Dot. After Dot displays her Pokeball to Tinkatink, it accepts by hitting the Pokeball's button with its hammer. After the capture is completed, Dot deploys Tinkatink again, confirming a union between them.
A moment later, Dot records another Nidothing video, which becomes disrupted again after Tinkatink, making its first appearance in the video, accidentally hits the zip of Nidothing's costume - also made of metal, becoming excited and starts configuring a hammer with it, which flusters both Dot and Quaxly, the latter covering the screen.
