Synopsis[]
The Rising Volt Tacklers have run out of funds to continue their journey, so Friede and the others decide to accept a request to search for a lost Bramblin in order to make some money. As they search, the group encounters a band of Pokémon Hunters overhunting wild Pokémon and battle them.
Episode plot[]
Onboard the Brave Olivine, Friede gave the rest of the team some bad news, confirming that they don't have enough money to pay costs for the ship, requesting that they work with him to get some money back, which surprised Roy, believing that adventuring was the main part of travelling the Olivine.
Outside on the deck, Liko and Ann ring each other, the latter noticing Liko's Hatenna wandering behind her hair, adored by its cuteness before hearing the bell. Liko watched class from online as the teacher talked about partnerships in lesson time. Liko then walked back into the dining room, overhearing Friede and Cap agreeing to become team-mates for their next task, and agreeing in her thought that they're a great partnership, citing their strength in battle and good friendship. Friede agreed for an excited Liko and Roy, along with their Pokemon, to join his partnership.
After landing, the team arrived in a windy desert, where Friede cautioned the rest of the team. Inside a cafeteria, Shine, sitting at the back of the room, met up with his old friend Friede. Liko and Roy introduced themselves to him, before he showed them a picture of him with his Bramblin, requesting that they find that Pokemon, which got blown away by a strong gust of wind and got lost. Shine also told them that rustlers and poachers lurk around the desert trying to steal any Pokemon they see. Friede accepted Shine's offer, before Liko noticed their bond coming alive.
After a Pokedex scan, Friede turns to the direction the wind was blowing, until Cap spotted and pointed at something in the distance, a Bramblin hiding behind tall grass. After Roy called out to it, it blew away in the wind, forcing the others to go after it. The chase ends when Roy bumps into a Rhyhorn and falls over, while the Bramblin floats away. The horde of Rhyhorn chase after the team, causing a crash. Friede noticed a sign, and suggests they head to the desert instead of the oasis, explaining that Bramblin cannot tolerate getting wet, but Cap disagrees, believing it went the other way, causing them to argue and wrestle their cheeks. Liko overheard and saw the Bramblin hanging on the top of the tree, shocking Friede and Cap, before it is blown off by another gust of wind, prompting Friede to command the team to chase it once again.
Up ahead, they see a stampede of tumble weed rolling across the wind, in which Roy assumed was Bramblin. Roy calls for Bramblin across the weed. After hearing a Pokemon cry, Roy suggests they look for it, which flusters Friede. Unable to find it, Liko suddenly sees a Bramblin among a group of weed and stands up, causing Terapagos to fall head-first into the sand. Liko pulls it out, causing her to lose track of the lost Bramblin, which gets caught in a net and surrounded by guards. The poachers take the Bramblin inside the truck's cage, while Friede's team ask the public about Bramblin's whereabouts. Suddenly, Pikachu started sneezing after being called "cute" by two women, in which Friede laughs.
Friede mentions about the two ladies again as they head back, causing Pikachu to attack his own partner. Liko starts having doubts about Friede and Cap's true partnership, before they come across two ranchers putting another Pokemon in their truck's cage. The heroes overheard them talking about Bramblin. Friede confronted them and tied them up. He called Shine and informed to him that they found some of the true villains, and that they'll be heading over to the canyon to find the boss and Bramblin.
After arriving at the canyon, they spot the Bramblin trapped inside the cage, protected by the poachers. Friede demands that they let go of Bramblin. They initiate a battle with the Rising Volt Tacklers. During the battle, Cap starts sneezing after being called "cute" multiple times by the princess, panicking Friede and prompting Liko and Roy to help out with their Pokemon. However, they are stunned by Mudsdale's Bulldoze, preventing them from advancing closer to the cage. Bramblin tried using Power Whip to break the cage open, in which Friede becomes impressed with its efforts and encourages it to keep going, however, the cage stayed intact. The princess becomes annoyed and freezes all the Pokemon inside the cage with her Avalugg's Blizzard.
Bramblin suddenly starts glowing, which Pikachu notices and looks up at the dead branch. Friede suggests that they force their way into the cage, but Pikachu declines again, going at it alone and ignoring the team. Friede, having lost another argument, sits down and suggests Liko and Roy take the responsibility, which panics them initially before they eventually agree to do it. Meanwhile, the Poachers agreed to a plan to take Friede's Cap. Liko thinks aloud that she'll need to write a different assignment for her class, which confuses Roy. During the battle, Friede successfully executes a sneak attack as Pikachu critically hit the Princess' Avalugg with a Thunder Punch from the top of the canyon, causing it to faint and the Princess to whimper over her loss.
With Avalugg down, Friede, having used his Pokemon knowledge to his advantage, commanded Bramblin to use Rapid Spin repeatedly inside the cage. The Pokemon then evolved into Brambleghast. Friede commanded it to use Power Whip, in which it finally broke open the cage and allowed the trapped Pokemon to be freed. Friede then revealed that he went along with Cap's plan, hailing it as "excellent". Meanwhile, the poachers continue attacking with their Pokemon, however Pikachu corrals and faints all three of their Pokemon inside the truck's cage. Cap and Friede celebrate a unique high-five after their victory.
Back at the Olivine, Liko told the students in class about the story of Friede and Cap's achievements as a partnership, and hopes that her partnerships will be as strong as theirs, having received a round of applause from the rest of the class.
