Episode plot[]
Today, they headed off to the market, and found the stall with the Lampent on top, coinciding with Liko's and Roy's findings. As Tepen woke up behind the counter, he interrupted Liko and advertised his Sleep Powder bottle, and the fossil of a 20,000 year-old Rotom Phone. While Roy became excited, Friede and Liko become suspicious, until the latter introduced herself as Diana's grand-daughter. Tepen became impressed and told her one of the memories of them together. As he asks a question, Roy showed him his Ancient Pokeball, becoming shocked, before requesting to investigate it, along with his backpack, which Roy agreed to. As Tepen investigated Roy's backpack, he cheekily swapped the Ancient Pokéball for a Foongus before he handed the backpack back to him.
As they leave, Hatenna started panicking after looking at Tepen's weird gleam in his eye. Also, Fuecoco's stomach rumbled, so Friede suggests they get some lunch. In the cafeteria, while everyone was having lunch, Sprigatito noticed Roy's backpack moving, growling in alarm. As soon as Roy checked, he screamed in disbelief about his Ancient Poké Ball suddenly going missing, which also shocked Liko and Friede. Liko remembered that the ball was taken by Tepen back at the stall, so Roy suggested they should head back. Meanwhile, Tepen, now possessing the Pokeball, called his group of Pokémon, a Honedge, Lampent, Bronzor and Bronzong, and closed the stall. As soon as Roy's team returned they were too late. Friede explains the truth to Roy and Liko over what might have happened. The latter made the connection why Hatenna was panicking, and that that was why it wanted to warn everyone. Friede told them to go find him together.
Tepen hid Roy's Pokeball in his wagon and took it along the streets, on the phone to somebody. As the heroes came across a T-junction, Friede suggested they split up, and deployed his Charizard. After doing so, Roy spots a suspect with the similar clothing and the same hair color, and went aggressive towards him until he realized it was an innocent person, with Liko reminding him about Friede's message to call him on his Rotom Phone. Meanwhile, Tepen spotted a Pokémon in the sky and immediately hid behind his wagon. He passed the Ancient Pokéball to his Lampent, and called all his Pokémon to start hiding.
Afterward, Cap noticed him, so Friede and Charizard swooped down and demanded him to return the ball. Tepen played another mind game, so Friede opened the blanket and checked inside his wagon, hoping to find it to no avail. Friede became even more suspicious and asked him where his Lampent went, panicking him. As soon as Friede stood on one side of the wagon, Tepen flipped the wagon over, landing the stock on top of him and Cap, then ran across the narrow alley. Friede demanded Charizard to go after him, but as soon as Charizard flew across the alley, he knocked down all the stalls. As soon as Friede ran across the alley, the shopkeepers stopped and blamed him for allowing his Pokémon to destroy their stalls. Charizard overheard the conversation, realized what he did and became shocked at the mess he caused on the ground.
Friede phoned Liko and Roy, suggesting they should look our for Lampent while Charizard works on gathering back the food for the stall. Friede allows Cap to leave as he returns to work. Roy soon spots Lampent, along with a group of Pokémon. Liko also noticed the bag attached to a string around Lampent, where the Ancient Pokéball may have been. Roy went at them aggressively, causing them to notice and hover down the alley, with Roy and Liko forced to play catch up. They ended up inside a museum, eventually realizing that they passed by all the suspects. They gave chase again; the suspects jumped out the window of the museum and dashed through another alleyway. Meanwhile, Friede had completed his job and the stalls were up and running again. The shopkeepers thanked him for his help and offered him the job, but he excused himself out upon Charizard's request.
Meanwhile, the thieves ran inside a large park. Liko and Roy split up, with Roy finding them coming across the field. After a discussion, Lampent and Bronzor moved away, the former occupying the Pokéball while Honedge opened out its sword, threatening Roy to battle against it and Bronzong. As Honedge attacked first with Slash, Fuecoco, upon Roy's command, dodges the attack. He hit Honedge back with Ember before Bronzong trapped him inside the bell, which Honedge clanged with its sword, with Roy forced to yelp and block his ears and causing Fuecoco to faint. The other two thieves escaped in the trees to meet up with Tepen.
Roy and Liko contacted each other for their whereabouts, until Sprigatito screamed after she noticed two of Tepen's Pokémon, including the Lampent with the bag of the Ancient Pokéball. Liko commanded Sprigatito to use Leafage, but Bronzor cut in-front of Lampent to block the move. Hatenna used Psychic to hover up a spade and moved it quickly across to break the string off of Lampent's grasp, dropping the bag on the ground. As Sprigatito retrieved the bag, Lampent stole the bag back with Thief just before Roy arrives. After another trash talk Roy and Liko commenced a battle with Tepen, during which Fuecoco tried a Flamethrower on Lampent, no damage was dealt due to its Flash Fire Ability. Roy deployed Wattrel to help out. In the midst of battle, the Foongus from earlier caused all Pokemon to fall asleep, shocking and angering Liko and Roy, until it fell asleep itself. It was then revealed to be occupying Tepen's Sleep Powder bottle.
A moment later, Captain Pikachu arrived at the park to take out all of Tepen's Pokémon and retrieve the bag to his side. Charizard and Friede stepped in to intervene. Roy then opened the bag which had the Ancient Pokéball inside, to his relief. Later, Diana, Squawkabilly and Arcanine arrived. The former showed a book to Tepen, discarded it as a 'fraud' and threw it to the ground, having berated him for lying and deceiving her. She commanded Arcanine to use Flamethrower but Liko protested, canceling the attack. Diana demanded an explanation after she told Roy and Liko that he was a keen adventurer and recalled the same event that Tepen told Liko. Tepen then explained that cheating and stealing suited his life better than adventuring, but Diana proved him wrong after she showed him a picture on Bronzor's back of him adventuring. Tepen then explained his worries that he'd end up in 'terrifying situations' is he decided to go adventuring again. Diana explained to him her beliefs, and expressed her disappointment that he used his friends as allies to committing a crime. Tepen started crying and apologizes, having suddenly remembered that he should've also apologized to the buyer of the Ancient Pokéball. Friede and Roy demanded further information about the buyer. Tepen explained her job role as a Pokéball Smith and gave the address to the Rising Volt Tacklers. Friede suggested they should go visit the worker, which Liko agreed.
