As Long as I'm with My Friends (Japanese仲間(なかま)といっしょなら, HepburnNakama to Issho naratrans. Together with Friends) is the 2nd episode of Pocket Monsters: Terapagos' Brilliance of Pocket Monsters (2023 series), and the 27th episode of Pokémon Horizons: The Series of Pokémon Horizons: The Series.

Synopsis[]

Still in pursuit of the black Rayquaza, the Rising Volt Tacklers touch down in the Wild Area of Galar, where Dot plans to meet up with someone who claims to have information. But the informant is a no-show, so the crew decides to make the best of their time by relaxing outside. After meeting an Ingredients Seller, they decide to cook curry—one made by Liko and one made by Roy. The result are two delicious curries that even Dot enjoys! Meanwhile, as the administrators of the Explorers gather in person for a strategy meeting, Amethio proposes a course of action…[1]

Episode plot[]

The scene started with the Brave Olivine hovering over the Galar region. While they waited, Roy suggested a battle with Dot, but after the Pokémon greet each other cheerfully, Dot refused. Liko moved over to Mollie to have her Pokémon checked; she discussed her worries about Dot's feelings, but the latter suggested that they should tell her instead of Mollie, and that sometimes they should try to push themselves from time to time. As news about the ship's landing was reported, Mollie told Liko that she'll look after the ship with Diana and Ludlow while Liko joined the rest of the team.

As Roy saw a big Pokémon in the forest, hoping to be the Black Rayquaza, he ran over to investigate, only to run into an Onix. At the same time, Terapagos sensed something of its interest too, so Roy phoned Dot for possible sightings, but she already appeared behind him, jump-scaring him. She stated that while she had the coordinates listed, she was unable to contact them. Dot lost her temper, but Friede tried to reassure her, explaining about Trial and Error, saying that going out was the right thing to do. Murdock suggested that as it was a beautiful day that they'll set up a Curry stall to pass the time, but Dot refused, causing everyone to take note, and had an anger meltdown, which caused Liko's Hatenna to get upset and run away. So Liko forced Dot and Sprigatito along to help her, with Quaxly, Roy and Fuecoco coming along.

Hatenna soon stopped by the shoreline, and smelled a possible Pokémon up ahead, becoming nervous, until it became reassured by Sprigatito and Quaxly. The Pokémon, confirmed to be Drednaw, rose from the lake. The heroes panicked as Terapagos got close to the Bite Pokémon after reading the Pokédex, with Roy having initially commanded Fuecoco to attack, but Drednaw had already been calmed down after watching Terapagos. The heroes were then startled by an Ingredients Seller, who observed the Pokémon playing on Drednaw's back, and praised them, calling them "customers", which confused Roy, and advertised in an attempt to convince them. At Explorers' HQ, a bored Coral went for a ride in her Glalie until she fell off. She then argued with Sidian about the Explorers' reputation, until Spinel reassured Coral, saying that there were positives to be gained from poor reputation, before he answered the outcome about successfully causing the Rising Volt Tacklers to fall into his trap of submitting fake coordinates of the Black Rayquaza in the Galar Region's Wild Area. Soon, Hamber and Amethio arrived, apologizing for being late.

In the Wild Area, construction of the Curry stall was in progress, with the ingredients laid out on the table. While Murdock, Roy and Fuecoco became excited about the idea of making Curry, Dot refused again, causing her friends to be shocked; Her friends tried to convince her about the positives of having curry. She then decided to head back to the ship to invite Mollie, Ludlow and Diana to come along, which Liko praised. The others started cooking. By the time Dot returned, Liko asked her what kind of curry she likes, after not making her decision, Murdock suggested that they make one pot of Roy's and Liko's curry, which Friede, Captain Pikachu, Roy and Liko approved, the latter two sharing a fist-bump out of respect. As Roy headed off, Liko forced Dot to join her to find ingredients, while the rest of the team work on the rice.

As Roy picked up Cheri Berries, he told Fuecoco to catch them, but not to eat them. A wild Greedent stored the dropped berry inside its tail. Fuecoco accidentally helped the Greedent store the berries in its tail. After Roy finishes, he noticed Fuecoco getting angry at the Greedent stealing his berries so they both demanded the wild Pokémon to hand it over; suddenly, a horde of wild Skwovet ambushed Fuecoco, causing Liko and Dot to get distracted while picking Pecha Berries. Fuecoco got caught inside a Skwovet cloud, with Quaxly using Water Gun to break them free and save his friend. As Quaxly's trainer arrived and told the Skwovet off, they ran away, along with the Greedent that carried Roy's Cheri Berries. Roy eventually agreed to cook with the Pecha Berries that Liko and Dot picked.

Soon, Liko, Roy and Dot started cooking, with the other three willing them on. They told them the five essential elements to cooking, but Dot misunderstood the 'heart' element, which got her flustered. After a while, the Curries were finished and presented on the dinner table, with the Pokémon also being fed Curry to their delight. The people became delighted about the success of both Roy's and Liko's curries, with Roy's curry causing their faces to turn red because of its extreme spiciness. Roy and Liko cheered and shared a high-five together. Dot them commented that eating together with everyone made the curry taste better. As Liko delivered more curry to Dot, she overheard this and explained to her that while new things can be scary, they can potentially be exciting.

Zirc watched a Nidothing video, while the rest of the Explorers watched a presentation by Hamber explaining the events involving the Pendant, before they discussed their next approach to obtaining Terapagos. Sidian, Hamber and Chalce agreed and commended Amethio for his reasoning behind Spinel's input of closely observing the Rising Volt Tacklers. Amethio also had plans to be the first to catch the Black Rayquaza.

By sunset, the Rising Volt Tacklers packed away. Dot put the blame on Liko for 'trying too hard', and was unsure about the idea of having fun, which concerned her and Quaxly. Liko tried to reassure her that eating out with people and doing such activities would ensure great memories, which annoyed her further and led her to think that she was useless. Liko disagreed, citing her work on the ship and the Nidothing videos she produced as her greatest benefits as night falls.

Back at the Olivine, Dot informed everyone that she'll research Rayquaza's current whereabouts, and that she'll go over all the fake information that's been spread. Roy then brought out his Ancient Poké Ball, suggesting he and Liko should look for more of them. Diana mentioned to them that she had an old friend that ran an antique shop, and suggested that he can help them. As soon as they found out about antiques, they became excited and decided to go.
