Someone We Can't See! Whosawhatsit? (Japanese: みえないヤツだ! 何者(ナニモン)なんじゃ?, HepburnMienai Yatsu da! Nanimon Nan ja?trans. It's Someone You Can't See! Whosawhatsit?) is the 15th episode of Pocket Monsters: Liko and Roy's Departure of Pocket Monsters (2023 series), and Pokémon Horizons: The Series of Pokémon Horizons: The Series.

Synopsis[]

After bumping into Spinel in disguise, Liko finds her memory to be hazy, and she's unable to recall why she returned to Paldea. But as she spends time with Sprigatito, pieces of their adventures together come back to her. Meanwhile, the Rising Volt Tacklers split up to find Liko, and Dot collaborates with Levincia Gym Leader Iono—a famous online streamer—to help create a viral livestream that gets viewers in on the search. The livestream works, but the so-called game of hide-and-seek turns into tag when Liko flees. Finally, Roy and Dot arrive, and Liko's memory returns…but her pendant is gone![2]

Episode plot[]

Having had her memory wiped by a Beheeyem, the last thing Liko recalls is attending Indigo Academy and becoming Sprigatito's Trainer. As they walk around Levincia, Liko wonders why she's back at Paldea and tries to look at her Rotom Phone, but finds it's full of static. She then feels as if she lost something important, but Sprigatito's cuteness distracts her as she tries to pet it, only to get scratched. In doing so, Liko has a faint memory of the events, making her feel as if it's happened before.

Back on the Brave Olivine, the Rising Volt Tacklers worry about Liko's whereabouts as she hasn't come back yet and all attempts to contact her have failed. Upon learning from Dot that she might be in Artazon, Friede and Roy go there to investigate. Ludlow prays for their return before stating that not everything can be seen by the eye.

At Levincia, Liko looks at a Sprigatito billboard before looking her backpack and takes out an ancient Poké Ball for Sprigatito to play with before it runs off, prompting her to chase her partner. Meanwhile, Spinel examines Liko's pendant, noting that the crystals of the pendant are extremely similar to a Tera Orb. As Friede and Roy search Artazon, Roy's Wattrel gets distracted by a Corvisquire, prompting him to chase after his Pokémon. The group is unable to find Liko, causing them to believe that the information was fake. Friede suspects that the same person responsible for the previous incidents was likely behind it, knowing that Amethio and his subordinates would never resort to deception. Roy finally catches up to Wattrel before realizing that he's ran all the way to Levincia.

Frustrated by the lack of leads, Dot decides to call one of her streamer friends, none other than Iono, who is a popular streamer and also the Gym Leader of Levincia. Dot tells her that her friend had gone missing in her city and needs help finding her. Iono agrees to help and decides to cover the stream up as a collaboration between the two. As Liko continues walking around the city, she spots a large crowd gathering at the central square, where she's surprised to see Nidothing appear in a stream hosted by Iono. Iono tells the crowd that they'll be playing a hide-and-seek game, with one of Nidothing's friends and subscribers doing the hiding - "SprigatitoSuperfan", which shocks Liko. The crowd immediately spots her, prompting her to flee, so Iono spices the challenge by changing it to a game of tag. Dot disconnects from the stream, which leaves Iono somewhat surprised but she still tells her fans to catch Liko.

As Liko and Sprigatito run from the crowd, the two run around a corner and she orders Sprigatito to use Leafage to cover their escape. This makes her recall an incident with Onia and her Skarmory when she runs into a Trainer with Flaaffy, where she has Sprigatito use Quick Attack, confusing them. Continuing their run, Liko can't help but feel that working with Sprigatito felt oddly familiar. Friede returns to the ship to pick up Dot, asking her to bring her Quaxly in the event they would need to battle. Roy, who was also in the city when Iono announced the game, also tries to look for Liko, but is not used to navigating such a large city. Friede and Dot then arrive, with Dot planning a route that would allow them to intercept Liko.

Liko and Sprigatito reach the top of a skyscraper when a full moon comes in. Reaching her hand out to it, all of her memories return. She then notices the crowd assembled below her and realizes that she'll have to jump buildings to escape. She and Sprigatito jump to a nearby building, which she manages to balance her footing on, making her confident. The others then arrive, though Liko is confused as to who the girl is before learning that she's actually Dot. Before Dot could explain anything, Iono arrives via Flying Taxi, proclaiming Roy as the winner of the game of tag and praising Liko for giving her fans a good time and the friends she has. As Iono ends the stream, Spinel puts the pendant into a case, believing that Liko is stronger than he expected due to being able to break Beheeyem's memory wipe. Liko resolves to resume her adventure before realizing that her pendant is missing and informs Friede that the last thing she recalled was running into a mysterious man in the alley. As Friede looks up Beheeyem, Liko realizes that it was the one who wiped her memory and the one that he had fought earlier. Knowing that the culprit had to resort to a distraction to buy some time, Friede concludes that they must not have gotten too far and he declares a counterattack to reclaim the pendant.
