The Cavern (Japanese: 海底洞窟, Hepburn: Kaitei Doukutsu, trans. Seafloor Cavern) is the 8th episode of Pokémon Generations.
Synopsis[]
Deep under the sea, Team Aqua's leader is about to achieve his greatest goal. Can one voice of reason turn the tide of destruction?[1]
Episode plot[]
Somewhere away from Mossdeep Space Center, beneath the sea, a group of people walk through a cave. Their leader finds the Kyogre and laughs, introducing himself as Archie of Team Aqua, who has waited long for this moment. He states the world is in turmoil, as people pursued their selfish desires, causing Pokémon to be harmed. He unleashes the Blue Orb and wants the world to turn as it was before and should be. An admin screams Archie's name, as he turns around and sees Shelly. She begs him not to do this, as his view of how the world should be is much different than the world Kyogre would make.
Archie is baffled, so Shelly explains when she and her men were at the Weather Institute, Shelly took a look at the power Primal Kyogre would have and what world would it create. Archie notes how interesting that was, though Shelly warns Kyogre would sink everything into the ocean, creating despair around the world. Archie shows the Blue Orb, which grants him the power to control Kyogre. Shelly screams, as Archie throws the Orb, which flashes and triggers Primal Reversion on Kyogre. Archie urges Primal Kyogre, who resurfaces to destroy everything.
Primal Kyogre summons a heavy rain with its Primordial Sea ability, as the Wingull fly away and the sea Pokémon try to dive away. Primal Kyogre also summons tornadoes; Archie, Shelly and the grunts are in the submarine. Matt, another admin of Team Aqua, reports that things are going badly out. He warns the entire world may be sunk under Primal Kyogre's power. Archie gasps, as Shelly explains their utopia rests on the bottom of the ocean. Archie and Shelly come out, where the former tries to command Primal Kyogre to stop. However, Primal Kyogre turns around and summons waves to attack them both. Next, Primal Kyogre charges at the submarine and prepares to attack Team Aqua.
