Origin Ball is unique for being a type of Poké Ball that is a key item, so there is only one Origin Ball, unlike even the elusive Master Ball. It is specifically for capturing Origin Form Palkia or Origin Form Dialga, and it cannot be used on any other Pokémon. The Origin Ball is shaped like a truncated icosahedron and resembles a Cherish Ball.
Unlike other Poké Balls used in Hisui, which shake only once before verifying a capture, the Origin Ball shakes three times, like modern-day Poké Balls.

After defeating Dialga/Palkia (Origin Form) in the boss fight, a cutscene shows the player using the Origin Ball to capture the Legendary Pokémon. Afterward, the Origin Ball is no longer shown under the Key Items in the Satchel menu.
