The Nest Ball (Japanese: ネストボール Nest Ball) is used for catching Pokémon.

Appearance

It has a green top with yellow or brown bands that wrap from the sides up around the back before ending in a circle at the top to make a woven nest.

Generation III

Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald: in Verdanturf Town.

Generation IV

Diamond, Pearl and Platinum: Eterna City, Hearthome City, Solaceon Town, Great Marsh, Sinnoh Pokémon League.
HeartGold & SoulSilver:
- Johto: Safari Zone Gate
- Kanto: Pewter City, Vermilion City

Generation V

Black & White: Unova Route 9, Castelia City, Driftveil City, Unova Pokémon League.

Trivia

The catch rate is determined by this formula: $rate = 40 - x$ $rate=40-x$ , where x is the wild Pokémon's level.
- In Black & White and Black 2 & White 2 games, the formula is altered: $rate = \frac {41 - x}{10}$
