Mt. Thunder (Japanese: ライメイの やま Mt. Raimei) is the sixth dungeon in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX. After floor 10, the player is given an option to save and heal before continuing on to Mt. Thunder Peak, which takes place on the outside of the mountain. It has three floors, with the first legendary Pokémon boss (Zapdos) at the peak. There is no chance of finding a Monster House, a Kecleon Shop, or a buried item in this dungeon. This is the first dungeon to fight with a Legendary Pokémon.

After the player's rescue team attempts to rescue Shiftry and the lost Jumpluff, the monster of the Silent Chasm legend, Zapdos, appears and kidnaps Shiftry. It is up to the player to rescue him.

After the player reaches the peak of Mt. Thunder, Zapdos appears to challenge the rescue team. If the player's team is victorious, Zapdos tries to knock the player out, but Team ACT appears to calm down Zapdos. Zapdos is impressed by the player's rescue team, and releases Shiftry. Team ACT is shocked by the players strength, as Alakazam senses that the player is not a Pokémon. The partner reveals that the player is a human. The partner then asks Alakazam how the player turned into a Pokémon. Alakazam does not know, but tells the partner to go to the Hill of the Ancients, to find Xatu to shed light on the player's past.

As the player and the partner leave, Charizard knows that Alakazam is hiding something. Alakazam then tells Charizard that something is concerning him, but he leaves it unspoken for the player's sake.
