Mt. Ember (ともしびやま, Mt. Firelight?) is a location in Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version.

Description[]

Mt. Ember is a mountain on the northernmost accessible area of One Island, in which Kindle Road must be traversed before the player can attempt scaling the peak.

The exterior portion of Mt. Ember features a maze with stairs and hills. Some spots have boulders that require Strength to move. At the southeast portion of the exterior, there is a duo of Team Rocket Grunts socializing with each other. The spot where they socialize will become an open cave after the player obtains the National Pokédex. There are patches of tall grass at three separate areas of the exterior, and there are Pokémon Rangers. The stairs enable the player to navigate the hills of the exterior, and navigating some caves allows them to eventually reach the path towards the summit.

For the cave areas of the mountain, the first room acts like a sideswiping pattern until the next room. For the second room, there are a few sideswipes and some stairs to go uphill until the next room. The third cave has some cracked rocks and a sideswipe that acts like a u-turn that leads the way out to the other side of the exterior on the mountain.

In the summit of the mountain, the player must use Strength to move the boulders in specific directions, then they can go see Moltres on a bird-like summit.

After the player has defeated the Elite Four and obtained the National Pokédex, two Team Rocket Grunts can be battled. After the battle, they escape into a newly discovered chasm. The chasm contains Braille inscriptions, which discloses the path to a room concealing a Ruby, which is needed to enable trading to players from Hoenn. At the foot of it, a Hiker teaches one of the player's Pokémon Explosion.

For the secret caves that can be accessed after defeating the Team Rocket Grunts, the first floor can be traversed by turning left and seeing a ladder that goes to the B1F. In the B1F, the player can go north and use the ladder to go to the B2F. In the B2F, there are cracked rocks that require Rock Smash to remove and boulders that require Strength to move. The path mainly starts east and then south towards the ladder that leads to the B3F. In the B3F, the path begins east with more cracked rocks and boulders. Pushing one boulder south leads to a path that goes west and then south again to the ladder that leads to the B4F. The B4F has carvings with visual braille messages. Going southeast from where the player first entered the room leads to a ladder towards the B5F. The B5F has a pedestal that contains a Ruby. The player can retrieve the Ruby and present this to Celio at the Pokémon Net Center.
