Trivia
- Depending on the game it was transferred from as Mime Jr., it can have various unique traits.
- It can have no identification mark if it was transferred from a Generation 3-5 game while it is still a Mime Jr. The same thing can be done with Sylveon as an Eevee.
- It can have the blue pentagon (meant for Pokémon from Generation VI games) and the black clover (meant for Alola Pokémon).
- Aside from Origin marks, it is able to know Double Slap, Meditate and Wake-Up Slap if it knew these moves as Mime Jr.
Origin
The design of Mr. Rime is based on tap dancers or the British film actor Charlie Chaplin, who's been known for doing comedy in silent films. This is also seen in its Shiny coloration where it is a brown-shaded version of the normal coloration, often seen in old films. It may also be based on Charlie Chaplin's stereotypical Tramp character, who Mr. Rime wears similar clothes to.
It may be based on senior citizens as well, considering how its look differs from Mime Jr., who resembles a baby.
Etymology
Mr. Rime's name is a combination of that of its predecessor, Mr. Mime, and the English word rime, referring to ice formed by rapid freezing of cold water droplets or fog onto a cold surface. It may also derive from rhyme, as some of Britain's most famous comedies were written by poet William Shakespeare.
