Mom is a character appearing in Pokémon Ruby Version and Pokémon Sapphire Version, Pokémon Emerald Version, and the remakes Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire.
Biography[]
She has the role of being the player's mom in the Hoenn region, and the wife of Gym Leader Norman. Mom moves into Littleroot Town with the player at the start. She is first seen when the player leaves the truck before showing them inside their new home. After the player checks their bedroom, she urges them to quickly see a report showing Norman on TV, but the player sees only the conclusion of it.
Throughout their journey, the player can talk to Mom to have every Pokémon in their party fully restored. The player's mom also gives the player the Running Shoes once they have received their Pokédex.
If the player visits Mom after winning against Norman, she gives them an Amulet Coin.
After entering the Hall of Fame, the player returns home, and their Mom directs them to watch a report on TV about one of two Pokémon of the Eon Duo roaming the Hoenn region: Latios in Pokémon Ruby Version and Latias in Pokémon Sapphire Version. Meanwhile, in Pokémon Emerald Version, the news report does not differentiate between the two; when the player talks to Mom, she asks if the report was about a red creature or a blue creature, which the player can choose. If the player selects "blue creature", Latios is the Pokémon roaming the Hoenn region, and if they choose "red creature" it is Latias.
In the remakes, Mom gives out tickets at the start of the Delta Episode to see a show in Mossdeep City.
