This Staryu is a water-type Pokémon owned by Misty.
Biography[]
Misty had Staryu battle her Gyarados, who went on a rampage. Staryu was quickly blown away, and as Red distracted Gyarados with his Bulbasaur, Staryu used Recover. With Bulbasaur's Vine Whip, Staryu launched Bubble Beam to defeat Gyarados.[1] Facing some Team Rocket forces at Mt. Moon, Misty had Staryu use Water Gun. The commander's Rhydon used Horn Drill to repel the attack, and this also caused Misty to bash into a wall and fall unconscious.[2] Returning to Cerulean City, Red and Misty had their Pokémon - including Staryu - recover in Misty's mansion.[3]
Red was saved by Starmie and saw Gyarados fighting the Dragonite. He noted it must've been Misty, and remembered how his Bulbasaur and Misty's Staryu fought against Gyarados.[4] Misty, Staryu and Starmie joined in the attack against Team Rocket at Saffron City, and secured the northern gates.[5]
As Cerulean City was attacked, Misty had her Staryu defend it from Haunter and Gengar.[6][7]
