Biography

Pokémon the Series: Black & White

Miles is the former Gym Leader of Mistralton City, and before he retired, he gave Skyla the title. However, Skyla had less and less time for battling and came up with the idea of air battles: simply she decided on the trainer's Pokémon whether she would win or not, then gave them a badge if they would win. Miles did not approve and told this story to the heroes. Cilan was furious at this way, so Miles asked his granddaugther to have a battle with Cilan. In the end, Cilan lost, but Miles asked Skyla to try battling Ash. Next day, Skyla battled Ash. After a heated aerial battle, Skyla lost, pleasing Miles, as she realized the error of her way.

Before the heroes went to next town, Stephan asked them to participate in the Wishing Bell Festival, whose host was Miles. Miles asked many questions and gave many trials to the competitors, though he sometimes was controlled by Ricky's Elgyem. In the final challenge, Ricky was disqualified because he couldn't carry the Litwick's flame atop, while Stephan's Litwick doused Ash's Litwick's flame. Since Stephan won, Miles let him ring the wishing bell.
