Max moves

A Max move is a special type of move introduced in Generation VIII. Max moves are part of Dynamax and can replace regular moves with power-up versions similar to Z-Moves. There is also a different variant to Max moves, called G-Max moves.

List of Max moves[]

Max Guard: A Normal-type Max move. It allows the user to protects from all moves, including Max moves.
Max Strike: A Normal-type Max move. It allows the user to decrease the Speed of the target by one stage.
Max Knuckle: A Fighting-type Max move. It allows the user to increase the Attack of the user and its allies by one stage.
Max Overgrowth: A Grass-type Max move. It allows the user to inflict damage and causes the battlefield to become Grassy Terrain.
Max Lightning: An Electric-type Max move. It allows the user to inflict damage and causes the battlefield to become Electric Terrain.
Max Darkness: A Dark-type Max move. It allows the user to decrease the Special Defense of the target by one stage.
Max Geyser: A Water-type Max move. It allows the user to inflict damage and creates rain.
Max Flare: A Fire-type Max move. It allows the user to inflict damage and creates harsh sunlight.
Max Airstream: A Flying-type Max move. It allows the user to increase the Speed of the user and its allies by one stage.
Max Rockfall: A Rock-type Max move. It allows the user to inflicts damage and creates a sandstorm.
Max Starfall: A Fairy-type Max move. It allows the user to inflict damage and causes the battlefield to become Misty Terrain.
Max Steelspike: A Steel-type Max move. It allows the user to increase the Defense of the user and its allies by one stage.
Max Flutterby: A Bug-type Max move. It allows the user to decrease the Special Attack of the target by one stage.
Max Hailstorm: An Ice-type Max move. It allows the user to inflict damage and creates hail.
Max Mindstorm: A Psychic-type Max move. It allows the user to inflict damage and causes the battlefield to become Psychic Terrain.
Max Ooze: A Poison-type Max move. It allows the user to increase the Special Attack of the user and its allies by one stage.
Max Phantasm: A Ghost-type Max move. It allows the user to decrease the Defense of the target by one stage.
Max Quake: A Ground-type Max move. It allows the user to increase the Special Defense of the user and its allies by one stage.
Max Wyrmwind: A Dragon-type Max move. It allows the user to decrease the Attack of the target by one stage.

A Pokemon Go exclusive Max Move exists in Max Battles known as Max Spirit. It allows the user to heal itself and its Dynamaxed allies (when in 40 person Gigantamax battles, it only heals your team, not the whole 40 trainers).
