Madeleine is a priestess, who seeks the enlightenment. She warned the heroes and Team Rocket they stepped on her Slowpoke's favorite place, then took both groups in the temple, putting them on tests. She pointed out that she and her fellow students want to think about the life, just like the Slowpoke does. Once Team Rocket stole the statue, she had Slowpoke, who evolved into Slowbro, blast Team Rocket off and put them to more tests, displeasing them.
