In the underground Diamond Domain, where many Carbink live, the Mythical Pokémon Diancie serves as ruler. The Heart Diamond that sustains the land is beginning to fall apart, and Diancie is not yet strong enough to create a new one. While seeking help from the Legendary Pokémon Xerneas, Diancie encounters a group of thieves who want to take control of its diamond-producing power—and who awaken the Legendary Pokémon Yveltal from its cocoon in the process! Can Ash and his friends help Diancie discover its true power, stop Yveltal’s rampage, and save the Diamond Domain?

Tubi TV[]

Ash, Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie join forces to help Diancie, a Pokémon that creates diamonds, to find Xerneas and save her home.

Plot[]

It involves a Great Destruction that once wreaked havoc in the Kalos region, making life become extinction, a barren wasteland. The Destruction Pokémon, Yveltal is said to have been the cause of this horrific event. Once Yveltal destroyed all life in a place known as the Allearth Forest, it turned into the Cocoon of Destruction, in which it still lies in a dormant sleep.[1] Opposing Yveltal was Xerneas, the Life Pokémon, who had the power needed to restore balance against Yveltal's destructive nature and restore life to both the humans and Pokémon of Kalos. The Diamond Domain was the state owned by Diancie, and its life depended upon the Heart Diamond created by Diancie itself. Many unmutated Carbink lived at the Diamond Domain.

However, Diancie soon became weaker as the time passed, and thus, the energy of Diamond continued to become lower. Diancie now moved to search the source for the energy to energize the Heart Diamond, Xerneas's Fairy Aura, alongside her bodyguards, Merrick, Bort and Allotrope. They did not have much success, however, due to Xerneas always being on the move. One night, Diancie saw Avignon Town in the distance and decided to check it out while her bodyguards were asleep, as she thought it looked like fun. By the morning, however, she started getting attacked by two thieves, who wanted Diancie for her ability to create diamonds.

During this time, Ash & his friends had also arrived in Avignon Town and had met Astrid, a strong Pokémon Trainer who Ash battles in a best of 3. Pikachu is able to defeat Pyroar, but Froakie and Hawlucha are knocked out by Astrid's Meowstic and Absol, winning her the match. After the battle was over, Ash and Pikachu praised how strong Mega Absol was. Astrid returns Absol to its Pokéball only to be met by Bonnie asking her to marry Clemont, much to the Lumiose City Gym Leader’s chagrin and Serena's amusement. As Ash and co. explore Avignon Town, Pikachu eventually senses Diancie getting injured from both a Flamethrower and a Water Shuriken, with Ash & his friends following close behind. Diancie tries to escape from Merilyn and Riot, but doesn't have much luck in doing so until Ash and Pikachu come to her aid, telling Diancie to go with Serena and the others.

Ash then proceeds to have Pikachu prevent Merilyn's Delphox and Riot's Greninja from further attacking Diancie with a Thunderbolt before the two of them make a run for it as well, with Merilyn, Riot and their Pokémon retreating soon after. Ash & his friends then introduce themselves to Diancie, and Clemont deducts that Merilyn and Riot were after Diancie because of her ability to create diamonds after Serena shares info about the Jewel Pokémon from her travel guide. This causes Team Rocket, who had followed Ash & Pikachu to Avignon Town and saw their battle with Astrid, to take an interest in Diancie themselves.

Later, Ash & co. are in the middle of having dinner with Diancie, who Ash has try a brioche. Diancie finds the pastry delicious, with Ash telling her to eat as much as she wants, and that eating well and sleeping well keeps him healthy. As Bonnie, Diancie and Pikachu grab seconds while Clemont and Serena give Ash a geology lesson, Team Rocket make their move and swipe Diancie, with Pikachu being the only one to notice it happening inside the restaurant. After being taken to a clock tower, the trio of Jessie, James and Meowth persuade Diancie to make them some diamonds upon hearing how formal she was when talking to them, and she obliges, eventually overflowing the clock tower with them to the point where the clock stops. When Diancie goes to leave the tower, she's assisted by a young girl, Millis Steel, and her Chesnaught, who leads her in the direction of Ash & the others.

Upon the group reuniting, Diancie explains to Serena what happened, with Clemont being confused on why Team Rocket kidnapped Diancie just for diamonds, but Ash is just glad she's alright. Diancie thanks Ash, but is certain Team Rocket is rather disappointed. Back at the clock tower, all of the diamonds Diancie made disappear much to Team Rocket's chagrin, causing the clock tower to move again. A short while later, Diancie explains to Ash & the others that she is on a journey to find Xerneas, whom Clemont explains has the power to give life. Diancie explains that Xerneas's Fairy Aura is able to draw out her true power, and that she must find it. Ash & co. decide to help Diancie by requesting to join her on her way to Xerneas, which she formally accepts.

Millis Steel, meanwhile, makes her way back up to the ship of her father, Argus Steel, who has been keeping track of Diancie's journey and her encounters with Merilyn and Riot. He also finds out about Jessie, James and Meowth, which surprises him initially, but then says that the trio aren’t of his concern. Millis tells her father that Diancie is safe, and Argus congratulates her, offering her chocolate from the Hoenn region as a celebratory snack. This is much to the chagrin of Millis, who is concerned about her father’s health and thinks he’s eating too many sweets.

Ash & his friends start their journey with Diancie on a bus out of Avignon Town, where Diancie explains to Bonnie that the Fairy Aura surrounding Xerneas leaves behind a trail that she is able to sense. At night, they stop by a pond in order to get some rest, but Ash is woken up by Diancie trying to create a new Heart Diamond, the attempt of which is unsuccessful. As she somberly looks up at the night sky, she's surprised to see a shooting star go past. Ash tells Diancie that if she makes a wish on a shooting star before it vanishes, her wish will come true. The two decide to give it a try, and after a shooting star passes, Ash makes a wish that Diancie will be able to make the greatest diamonds ever. The two go on through the night as Serena watches them bond together.

The next morning, Ash's group takes a ferry to Orsay City, where they see a group of Buizel and Floatzel along the way. Bonnie, Pikachu and Diancie say hello to the Sea Weasel Pokémon, who put on a performance for the group which ends in them getting drenched. After a change of clothes and moving to the upper deck, Diancie expresses her enjoyment about being on a journey, with Ash telling her that traveling with friends is fun and that he’s glad she’s having a good time. Upon learning about what friends are and about the symbiotic relationship that comes with them, the princess formally accepts Ash & co. as her new friends, with the group both liking and enjoying Diancie’s polite mannerisms.

The feeling of happiness Diancie gets as a result of this new bond results in her creating a diamond which Bonnie grabs before it can fall into the sea. Diancie is concerned that it might disappear soon, and apologizes in advance. Bonnie likes the diamond, asking the princess if she can keep it. Diancie accepts the request, much to the excitement of Bonnie, who thanks the Jewel Pokémon. Upon arriving in Orsay City, they make a stop at the local shopping mall. Diancie initially believes the mall is a castle, and also doesn’t know what shopping is, much to Bonnie's surprise. Serena suggests that they take a quick break while they’re at the mall, and Diancie approves, which Serena says is a relief. Bonnie and Serena then begin taking Diancie on a clothes shopping spree, while Ash & Clemont go get some vanilla ice cream. However, before the girls can settle on a set of clothes to purchase, Diancie sees that her Carbink bodyguards have finally managed to catch up with her and makes a run for it, with Ash & the others trying to follow the four Pokémon. After seeing that they have made it to the top floor, Clemont uses his Super-stretch Ladder and assists Ash and Pikachu with getting close enough to the top. Sending out Hawlucha to act as a glider, Ash & Pikachu are able to help Diancie get back to the others... much to the dismay of Merrick.

Leaving the shopping center, Clemont notes that it's rather odd for Carbink to be in a metropolitan environment, while Diancie is worried that her bodyguards have finally found her. At this point, Merilyn had managed to catch up with the group, and Ash decides to stall her while Serena and the others escape with Diancie. A combined Water Pulse and Thunderbolt from Froakie & Pikachu sends Merilyn's Delphox straight into a tree, causing Merilyn to compliment Ash on how well he trained his Pokémon. Meanwhile, Serena utilizes her knowledge of Rhyhorn Racing to have a Rhyhorn assist in getting Diancie into a nearby forest for safety.

After Rhyhorn heads back to the ranch, Diancie is concerned about Ash’s safety, and is worried that her quest for Xerneas has put him and her new friends in danger. Though she is reassured by Clemont telling her that friends help each other out in a pinch, disaster soon catches up with them as Dedenne detects an attack from Riot's Greninja, who subsequently wraps the princess with its tongue. As Serena and Bonnie grab onto Diancie, Clemont uses his Aipom Arm to stall the Ninja Pokémon, giving Dedenne the perfect opportunity to Nuzzle it and therefore allowing Clemont to pull everyone down from the branch. After Riot comments on the attack, finding it "most entertaining", he has Greninja use Double Team to surround the group. While Clemont & Serena have Chespin and Fennekin combat the Greninja clones, Ash comes in to counter multiple Water Shurikens aimed at his friends. Ash tries to have Diancie make a break for it, but she's then cornered by more clones.

Merrick, Bort and Allotrope arrive to protect Diancie from more Water Shurikens, but are injured when doing so. When Riot tries to have Greninja attack the three Carbink for interfering, Diancie attempts to use Diamond Storm to counter it, but the Water Shurikens break through the attack, as well as kick up some dust to blind the Carbink temporarily. Greninja then captures Diancie with its tongue again, but a Pin Missile from Millis' Chesnaught is able to save her. At Millis' request, Diancie, Ash & the others, now with the former's bodyguards, run away.

After Diancie gets Merrick, Bort and Allotrope acquainted with Ash & his friends, Merrick explains to Ash and Serena how their journey to find Xerneas has taken up many months, and subsequently, Diancie explains how her travels with her bodyguards led her to Avignon Town. Diancie apologizes to Merrick for running off alone without telling him, but Merrick lets her off easy. He, Bort and Allotrope have led Ash & the others to the Diamond Domain, where - alongside Diancie - they are filled in by Dace on how dire things have gotten: the Heart Diamond's life has finally expired.

Ash & his friends ask about the Heart Diamond, wanting to help in any way they can. After learning from both Diancie and Dace about how the Heart Diamond is the sole source of the Diamond Domain's life, how Diancie is the only one who can create such a diamond, and how the Fairy Aura can draw out the power Diancie needs to make a new one, Ash realizes how important this mission really is. Diancie feels ashamed for not knowing what was going on in her own kingdom while on her travels, feeling she doesn’t be deserved to be called a princess. Ash decides to cheers her up, telling her not to cry and that crying won’t fix the problem. This motivates Diancie, who tells her bodyguards that Ash is right, before telling them, Ash & his friends to continue the search for Xerneas. Dace, who was moved by Ash and Diancie’s courage, now decides to join them.

Their search leads them to the Allearth Forest, where the Great Destruction occurred so long ago. Dace informs Diancie, as well as Ash & the others, about the Great Destruction, Yveltal, and what will happen to whoever disturbs Yveltal's slumber. Undeterred, the group goes into the Allearth Forest to search for Xerneas, with Team Rocket not too far behind. Clemont is surprised that the Allearth Forest was destroyed, to which Dace tells him that it took many years for the forest to come back to life, and that it’s been said that Yveltal caused the Great Destruction to invigorate its vitality. Clemont guesses that Yveltal’s destruction is part of the balance of nature, which he explains to Ash as a rule that governs both life and destruction. Eventually, the group finds Xerneas, and Diancie, Pikachu and Dedenne follow it deeper into the forest, with the others not far behind them.

After tripping over a tree root and tumbling down a slope, Diancie finally gets to meet Xerneas face to face. Xerneas uses its Fairy Aura ability to draw out Diancie's power, as well as the four Carbink and even Dedenne. Before leaving, Xerneas tells Diancie that the power to nourish life lies within her. Diancie thanks Xerneas, though she still wonders if she will be able to make a Heart Diamond. Ash, Bonnie and Dace encourage Diancie to do so, but before she can, Millis and Argus arrive and congratulate Diancie on meeting Xerneas. Serena is surprised to see Millis Steel again, seeing as how she just helped the group earlier. Millis explains to Serena that she is correct about having helped them out before, and says that she and her father are now here to try and take the princess.

Ash demands an explanation from Millis, with her revealing that they were following Diancie with Honedge the whole time, as unlike Merilyn and Riot, she & her father knew trying to take Diancie without her powers would be pointless, with Argus comparing it to having chocolate without any cocoa in it. Team Rocket, watching in the distance and seeing Argus and Millis Steel in the same vicinity with Ash, decide not to engage for the time being. Millis continues telling Ash that she was helping the group out of compassion towards Diancie, before having her Chesnaught wrap Diancie up with Vine Whip. However, Riot's Greninja swipes Diancie while in the air. Now with two Ninjask by his side for air transport, Riot and Greninja head deeper into the forest with Diancie, with Millis and Argus in hot pursuit and Ash & the others following close behind. Diancie pleas with Riot to let her go so she can return home in exchange for some diamonds, but it isn't too long before the three of them are ambushed by Merilyn's Yanmega and Delphox.

As Merilyn tries to escape with Diancie, Millis manages to grab the princess, but isn't able to hang on. Ash & Pikachu arrive with Hawlucha and manage to save Diancie from plummeting to the surface, but all three of them end up falling into the lake where Yveltal has kept himself sealed in a cocoon. Riot and Merilyn even end up in the lake after the latter is bumped off her Yanmega by Argus. As he & Millis try to convince Ash to hand over Diancie, Team Rocket once again decide to hold off getting Diancie for now, seeing as how there's too much opposition. However, things go from bad to worse, as Argus stepping into the lake is just enough to awaken Yveltal from its slumber, with the Carbink, Serena, Bonnie and Clemont (in that order) arriving just in time to see it happen. After the Destruction Pokémon awakens, Team Rocket tries to go for Diancie, only for Riot to make himself a target for Yveltal first. A single Oblivion Wing is enough to petrify all three of Riot's Pokémon. As Diancie tries to run, Merilyn swipes the Jewel Pokémon only to be met with an Oblivion Wing herself, which petrifies Yanmega and Delphox. It doesn't take long for Xerneas to sense that Yveltal has awakened.

Diancie is able to regroup with Serena, Bonnie, Clemont and her bodyguards, but is swiped by Argus, who - along with Millis - has his own encounter with Yveltal. Millis' Chesnaught is able to counter one Oblivion Wing with Pin Missile, but is forced to protect Argus, Millis and Aegislash with Spiky Shield against the second one, leaving it, Honedge and Doublade petrified. Yveltal goes in for a third Oblivion Wing on the Steel family & Diancie, but a Thunderbolt from Ash's Pikachu not only clashes with it, but destroys the attack, saving them much to the surprise of Argus and Millis.

Meanwhile, Jessie, James and Meowth try to evacuate the Allearth Forest as fast as possible, but Yveltal eventually catches up with them and uses Oblivion Wing to turn the trio to stone. Yveltal also attends to unfinished business with Merilyn and Riot, petrifying them as well. Ash & Diancie are able to regroup with the others, with Ash recalling Hawlucha back into his Pokéball. Yveltal arrives and aims an Oblivion Wing right at Ash, but Diancie attempts to use Diamond Storm again as a counter. Though it is able to protect the three of them, Oblivion Wing wins the clash.

While Diancie is worried that her new powers still aren't enough to face Yveltal, Ash & Pikachu tell Diancie to follow them and make a run for it. They escape from another Oblivion Wing, only to be met with Yveltal charging up one more. Pikachu tries to counter it with Thunderbolt again, but this time, the Oblivion Wing wins out. Merrick, Bort and Allotrope are able to protect Ash, Pikachu and Diancie from the attack's full brunt, getting petrified in the process. The Destruction Pokémon continues to attack the trio, using Shadow Ball to send Pikachu flying.

Ash catches his partner, but is now stuck on the edge of a cliff. Clemont is able to rescue Ash before he & Pikachu can fall all the way into the crevasse below, and Serena and Bonnie help Clemont pull Ash up. Diancie feels miserable for not being able to protect her bodyguards, but Ash & his friends encourage her to not give up. Pikachu is able to wake up and make it to the top of the cliff, making Clemont able to pull Ash all the way back onto solid ground.

Yveltal and Pikachu have another battle with Oblivion Wing & Thunderbolt respectively, pushing the Oblivion Wing to the group's left as a result. Diancie then steps up to protect the group against Yveltal, remembering what Xerneas said & declaring that she'll never give up. The diamond that Diancie gave Bonnie earlier begins glowing, as she Mega Evolves. As a result, Diancie is now easily able to overpower Yveltal's Oblivion Wing using Diamond Storm. It turns out Diancie was able to stall Yveltal for long enough that Argus and Millis Steel arrived in their ship, returning the good deed Ash did for them by helping him out against the Destruction Pokémon.

However, the missiles they fired at Yveltal didn't even damage it, and as a result, the Steels and Aegislash were hit by an up-close Oblivion Wing that not only petrified them, but went right through the ship. As Yveltal fired another Oblivion Wing at Ash & the others, it was countered and overpowered by an Aurora Beam from Xerneas. After a Shadow Ball from Yveltal is countered by another Aurora Beam, Xerneas uses Geomancy to quell Yveltal's rage and pacify it, returning the water in the Allearth Forest back to normal.

Despite this, Yveltal's defeat is merely a hollow victory - as Clemont noticed, the Oblivion Wing that Pikachu pushed to the side with Thunderbolt managed to graze it's tail, and the petrification effect has finally taken its toll on the Electric Mouse Pokémon. With Pikachu now fully petrified, Ash and his friends break into tears, with Serena hugging Bonnie and Clemont turning his head away, and both Diancie and Dace watch in shock. Thankfully, Xerneas' Geomancy is also able to resolve the effects of Oblivion Wing, returning everyone in the forest who was petrified back to normal, including Pikachu, Merrick, Bort, Allotrope, Merilyn, Riot, the Steels, all their Pokémon, and even Team Rocket, who give Xerneas' Geomancy a 10 out of 10 rating. Deciding to slumber in the Allearth Forest itself, Xerneas turns into a tree in order to protect the balance of nature. Before its slumber. Xerneas tells everyone that this does not mean she’s passing on from the mortal coil - as Diancie repeats, it is instead the promise of life and the beginning of hope.

Back in the Diamond Domain, Diancie - Mega Evolved once again - creates a new Heart Diamond in order to revive the Diamond Domain. She subsequently reverts to her normal form and thanks Ash & his friends for all their help, to which they all respond that they're glad they met her. As the group shares the sentiment that they'll be friends forever, Dedenne grabs the diamond from before and gives it to Bonnie, who notes to Diancie that it never disappeared ever since it was made on the ferry to Orsay City. Serena tells Diancie that this means that diamond was the first one she ever made, and Ash decides that the diamond will be the symbol of their friendship. Diancie agrees, and Bonnie decides to let the princess keep the diamond. Diancie tells Ash & his friends that she will cherish the diamond, and they all go their separate ways, with neither of them knowing that their bond had created a new Mega Stone.
