The Lumiose City Gym, also known as the Prism Tower (プリズムタワー, Prism Tower?), is the Gym located in Lumiose City. It is the fifth Gym in the Kalos region.
Upon entering, the player character will enter an elevator. For each floor prior to the top floor where Clemont is, his sister Bonnie will ask them a "Who's that Pokémon?" question. There are three Trainers on each floor and each one corresponds with an answer from left to right. In order to enter the elevator, the player must battle the Trainer. If the player takes the wrong elevator, it will indicate as such. If they enter the correct elevator, they will advance to the next floor. However, the two Trainers with wrong answers cannot be battled if they answer the question correctly. After Clemont is beaten, the player can take the elevator to the first floor of the Gym.

Description[]
The Prism Tower is an enormous modern-style building, based on a lattice tower, standing out from the rest of the city due to its construction of gleaming white steel, metallic decorations, and blue glass. The tower's base consists of a white, square structure supported by four triangular pillars at the corners. The base features four crescent-shaped entrances decorated with arches, and along the sides are exposed sections revealing the star-shaped support beams.
The upper part of the base has a kind of balcony with silver and blue details. The four facades are decorated with enormous electric-blue stained-glass windows in the form of twin arches. Above the base rises a massive, slender tower with a square base, which curves in the center before widening again at the top. The facade of this section consists of a row of bright blue windows framed within the structure and covered by an X-shaped metal lattice. At the top are four metal turrets at the corners with neon blue details and a massive metal telecommunications antenna in the center.
The Tower is actually a variant of the ultimate weapon called Ange. It was built by A.Z. 2,000 years ago, at the request of someone very influential at the time. A.Z. built it with the purpose of sharing the gift of eternal life with the entire region.
When Ange merges with Mega-Floette, it takes control of the tower. Its appearance mutates to resemble that of its real counterpart. The square base splits into four enormous, sloping metal pillars joined by semicircular arches and a series of colossal, thorny stems, which terminate in several enormous, eternal red and blue flowers. The upper section transforms into a massive, exposed spire, revealing the beams of the central tower. The antenna area becomes Ange's head, consisting of a flower bud-shaped structure from which Ange's roots branch out.

Anime[]
The Lumiose Gym made its debut in Kalos, Where Dreams and Adventures Begin!, when Ash Ketchum attempted to challenge the Gym Leader as his first battle in the Kalos region. However, due to him not having four badges in his possession, he was electrocuted and then dropped out of the tower.
The Gym's battlefield was formally revealed in Clemont's Got a Secret! when Clemont challenged his own creation, Clembot, to a battle for ownership of the Gym.
The Prism Tower was overtaken by Team Flare during the midst of the Lumiose Conference and put their plan to action during the finals.
Following the Team Flare Crisis, the Gym was officially reopened as of the end of Battling with a Clean Slate!.
Trivia[]
- The Prism Tower is clearly inspired by the Eiffel Tower, Paris's most iconic monument. The Prism Tower's modern style is based on the fact that, at the time, the Eiffel Tower stood out from the rest of Paris.
- Its location in the center of Lumiose City, where all the streets and avenues converge, is a reference to the Place Charles-de-Gaulle, a square with the Arc de Triomphe at its center and where 12 avenues meet.
- When Ange merges with the Prism Tower, its appearance changes to one more similar to that of the real tower.
- A.Z.'s tomb in Bonnuit Cemetery bears a certain resemblance to the tower's shape. Along with the City of Enamel Museum, it is one of the only buildings that have ceased to house the gym of their respective region, a change occurring between their respective sequels.
- According to Junichi Masuda's old blog, the main idea behind the design of Prism Tower was inspired by perfume bottles and fragrances, aiming for an image of beauty.
