Lizabeth

Lizabeth (ヒロミ, Hiromi?) is one of the main characters in Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea.

Appearance[]

Lizabeth is a young teenage girl with tan skin, light blue eyes and dark blue hair with back area tied in a bow shape and both sides being tied like pony tails. She wears a light pink sleeveless shirt with dark pink edges; the lower part opens up, revealing her stomach and belly button; she also also wears dark blue long pants with a white belt around it and a pair of light brown sandals.

Lizabeth's most notable clothing items include her light green necklace with a dark blue crystal in the middle and a light green bracelet on her right wrist, both indicating that she is a descendant of the People of the Water.

Lizabeth has a father named Kyle, a mother named Meredith, and a grandfather named Ship. Lizabeth and her family are first met by Ash, Brock, May, and Max when the group discovers Lizabeth and her family members training for the traveling circus, The Marina Group. Brock recognizes Lizabeth because he has an album with photos of her.

The show is notable because it combines Psychic-type Pokémon abilities with Water-type Pokémon abilities to create a spectacle in which the Water-type Pokémon can jump through floating spheres of water generated by Psychic.

It is eventually revealed that Lizabeth and her family members are descendants of People of the Water and that her bracelet and necklace distinguish her as part of this ancient civilization, with said accessories also being related to the Sea Crown and its resting spot within Samiya.

Lizabeth later gives May her bracelet as a consolation for May when she realized that she will have to eventually part ways with Manaphy, whom she developed a close bond with.

Lizabeth accompanies Ash and his friends when they go to return Manaphy to its home in Samiya. However, their plan is interrupted by the The Phantom, who arrived at the location and began to destroy the Sea Crown, causing Samiya to flood. Lizabeth decided to leave the area with Max and Brock, but Ash and May stayed behind to help Jack Walker, a Pokémon Ranger, restore the Sea Crown.

Some time after Ash rescues the Sea Crown on time, Lizabeth waves goodbye to Ash and his friends and resumes The Marina Group with her family.

Core series[]

In Pokémon Diamond Version and Pokémon Pearl Version, Pokémon Platinum Version, and the remakes Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, Lizabeth is one of the Pokémon Trainers fought at Route 220, and her Trainer class is a Swimmer. Lizabeth is named "Katelyn" in the English localization, but her Japanese name is the same as her regular name. True to form, Katelyn uses Seaking, Buizel, and Medicham, all species of Pokémon that had performed in The Marina Group in Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea. In the remakes Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, all of Katelyn's Pokémon use entirely different moves.
