Two-stage Pokémon are Pokémon consisting of only one evolution from their unevolved form. They are able to have multiple Pokémon as part of their evolution family (such as Eevee and Tyrogue), though they are only able to evolve into one of the Pokémon that is part of said family. Two-stage Pokémon families are also common among Regional form Pokémon and are also common with branched evolution Pokémon. Two-stage Pokémon family lines are also the most common of the evolutionary family stage lines. Some of these two-stage evolutionary family lines may be part of a three-stage evolutionary family line in future generations.

Trivia[]
- The most common type among two-stage evolution lines is the Water type, being present in 41 different lines.
- In contrast to this, the Dragon type is the least common, only appearing in 7 different lines.
- As of Generation IX, Mime Jr. and Applin are the only non-regional form Pokémon to be part of both a two-stage and three-stage evolution line. (The regional form in question is Zigzagoon)
- If a Mime Jr. caught in Galar can evolve into a Galarian Mr. Mime which then evolves into Mr. Rime. Otherwise it will evolve into the Kantonian Mr. Mime which is a fully evolved Pokémon.
- In Generation VII Applin could evolve into Appletun using the Sweet Apple and Flapple using the Tart Apple. Both are fully evolved Pokemon. In the Scarlet and Violet DLC: The Teal Mask, Applin could evolve into Dipplin using the Syrupy Apple. It was theorized Dipplin was not a fully evolved Pokemon due to Dipplin taking advantage of the Evolite, which only works on unevolved Pokemon. This was proven true when Dipplin could then evolve in the next DLC: The Indigo Disc into Hydrapple after learning Dragon Cheer.
