The Left Poké Ball is a key item introduced in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.

The Left Poké Ball is a standard Poké Ball containing a Dartrix, previously owned by a Trainer. The player obtains it from an employee in Heahea City Aether office, who claims that the Pokémon inside cannot be released, no matter how many times they tried to.
If the player heads to Malie City, just in front of a girl Preschooler and her mother, a cutscene begins. The girl asks her mom if her grandfather's Pokémon is okay, and her mother replies that it may be going on a new island challenge with a different Trainer. Then, the Dartrix inside pops out from the player's bag. She asks that why the player has her grandfather's Dartrix, and the player explains what happened. The girl then claims the Dartrix, saying that "I just want to be with it, all the time". The player then recalls Dartrix into the Left Poké Ball and hands it to the girl. As a thanks, the girl gives the player a Mental Herb.
