Also, Latias was intrigued by Ash as she decided to follow him and observe his every move during his journey. In addition, Latias gets concern for Ash's safety as she would ensure that he was safe from danger.
Biography[]
Latias was originally flying around while invisible until she collided with Team Rocket, who had just been blasted off by Ash after failing to capture his Pikachu. The resulting collision caused her to lose consciousness and crash into a lake. Ash and his Pokémon heard her crash and found her shortly afterwards. She was initially distrustful towards Ash despite being saved and healed by him. The following morning, she tried to leave but was unsuccessful in doing so due to her injuries before Team Rocket captured her along with Ash. Ash managed to free her from the trap, causing her to realize that he cared for her. She appeared to have recovered after the incident and left, but soon began trailing the pair.[1]
Latias witnessed Ash and Misty's battle over a wild Clauncher at the beach,[2] followed Ash, Misty, and Pikachu to the Galar region where she witnessed the events in the Glimwood Tangle whilst being invisible.[3] Ash helping a wild Beartic learn how to control its ice-type moves,[4] Ash, Squirtle, Charizard, Bulbasaur, and the Squirtle Squad working together to put out a massive fire,[5] Ash's rescue mission of a distressed Wailord who was stuck in a cave,[6] and Ash and his friends helping a lost Banette reunite with Nurse Joy, all whilst being invisible.[7]
Latias reappeared when she saved Ash and Pikachu from falling into the ravine, but immediately left before they could figure out how they were saved.[8]
While following Ash, Latias witness a Delibird flying to a destination. Latias then witnessed Ash and his friends being ambushed by Team Rocket alongside their Pokémon. She also witnessed Pikachu being the only one left when Ash and his friends were distracted battling Team Rocket's Pokémon. Seeing Pikachu in danger, Latias decided that she couldn't stand by and watch the Mouse Pokémon being taken away by Team Rocket as she used telepathy to warn Ash of the incoming danger. After Ash got her message, Latias was relieved that he got to Pikachu in time before Team Rocket could capture him. She then rescued Ash and a wild Slakoth from falling. Realizing that Ash now knows of her presence, she decided to reveal herself to him and his friends. Latias then turned her attention to Team Rocket as she was angry at them for once trying to capture her and for having the nerve to endanger Ash alongside his friends like that as she used Psychic to send them with their Pokémon blasting off. With Team Rocket dealt with, Latias showed a vision of a Latios being in danger.[9]
She then led Ash and his friends to where Latios is, but they were suddenly attacked by a Pokémon hunter who had been chasing after the Eon Pokémon in pursuit for money. While protecting Latios, Latias was hit by the hunter's energy blaster and was turned to stone. The hunter then fled with her, but Ash and Latios worked together to pursue the hunter, despite the later's initial distrust in humans. During the battle, Pikachu destroyed the energy blasted and freed Latias from her petrification. After Latios defeated the hunter's Hydreigon through Ash's guidance, Latias restrained the hunter with Psychic enough before Officer Jenny arrived to arrest him. Soon, Latias bid farewell to Ash and was slightly upset at her brother's disdain towards him in the process. The two later flew to Alto Mare.[10]
