Biography

Pokémon the Series: Gold and Silver

Kurt was dressed as a Slowpoke, looking out for criminals. Seeing Ash, Misty and Brock wanted for stepping on a Slowpoke's tail (although by accident), he handed them the Slowpoke costumes to disguise themselves. The heroes thanked the man, but wondered why was he dressed as a Slowpoke. Kurt avoided the question, stating he needed to conduct business. He followed a strange noise, finding Team Rocket capturing Slowpoke, who were sacred to Azalea City. The heroes eventually stumbled into the cave, finding Kurt, and tried to battle against Team Rocket, who had the advantage. Slowpoke started to yawn, and in a moment, a rainfall flooded the cave, allowing the heroes to defeat Team Rocket. Kurt was grateful, and upon the heroes asking where could they find Kurt, the latter took off his costume and asked what did they want.[1]

At Kurt's house, Kurt and Maizie (her granddaughter) were grateful that the heroes defeated Team Rocket. Ash gave Kurt a GS Ball to study, on Professor Oak's request. However, he did not know much about it, but promised to find more about it. He hammered it down and cooled it down, but before he could find more about it, Ash asked if he could make Poké Balls out of the apricorns they brought. Kurt promised to do so, as long as they bring apricorns to him. He continued studying the GS Ball, noting that it was primitive, yet advanced. He noted that it had a lock that had to be broken, and asked of the heroes to leave the ball to him. With the task done, Ash resolved himself to take on the Gym Battle, to which Kurt let him know that the Gym had reopened.[2]
