Klinklang was the main cause of the energy fluctuation occurring in Chargestone Cave, giving off huge amounts of electricity. It tried to defend itself by attacking Ash with a Charge Beam. Professor Juniper used a device to calm down Klinklang. Then, Juniper removed a pen that was jamming the Pokémon's rotating gears, thus returning Klinklang back to normal.
Klinklang appeared in Battling the Bully during a flashback, where it was shown to get its gears stuck from the same pen thrown by Ash's Krokorok.
