Per Kenny's proposal, he sent Breloom to battle Ash's Turtwig. Turtwig went to use Tackle, who got hit by the attack. Breloom retalaited with Mach Punch, countering Turtwig's Razor Leaf. During the battle, Turtwig's Bite was stopped by Energy Ball, which inspired Ash to teach his Turtwig the move.[1] It was later used in the performance round at the Solaceon Pokémon contest: it used Stun Spore, followed with Energy Ball that was shattered with Mach Punch. It did very well, as it allowed Kenny to move to the next round.[2]
