Kabutops woke up from their slumber due to the explosion caused by a dynamite. Upon waking up, they attacked Team Rocket, who were responsible for the explosion and even attack Ash and Pikachu despite them not being the cause of the explosion. But they all retreated when they hear Aerodactyl coming.
