Impidimp (Japanese: ベロバー, Hepburn: Berobaa) (IMP-ih-dimp[1]) is a Dark/Fairy-type Pokémon that was introduced in Generation VIII.
Biology[]
Physiology[]
Impidimp is a small, pink, bipedal Pokémon that can only be male. Its large head has two pointed ears, a black, bat-like wing on the back, and black facial markings. It also has large eyes with small pupils and a long, pointed nose with a single nostril. However, its most distinctive feature is its mouth, which always has a black tongue and two fangs sticking out. Compared to the rest of its body, its limbs are gangly and strange- its hands have three digits, and its feet lack visible toes. It also has no tail, unlike some other Pokémon.
Behavior[]
Mischievous creatures, Impidimp sneak into households to steal from humans. Similarly, to Shuppet, they feed off of frustration and negative energy, sucking it through its nose. More clever individuals may create roadblocks in woodland paths or move around signposts to disorient and frustrate travelers. Groups of Impidimp can wreak havoc on rural villages by terrorizing townsfolk with tiny inconveniences.
To ward off these troublemakers, homes near woodlands where Impidimp dwell may hang silver talismans on their doorknobs to keep the Pokémon out. Scientific evidence seems to support this practice; while Impidimp are inherently weak to Steel-type attacks, they seem to especially despise pure silver.
Natural Abilities[]
They can absorb humans and Pokémon's negativity as a means to recharge themselves.
Evolution[]
Impidimp evolves into Morgrem beginning at level 32. Morgrem will then evolve into Grimmsnarl ten levels later, at level 42.

Pokédex entries[]
- Sword
Through its nose, it sucks in the emanations produced by people and Pokémon when they feel annoyed. It thrives off this negative energy.
- Shield
It sneaks into people's homes, stealing things and feasting on the negative energy of the frustrated occupants.
- Scarlet
The reason this Pokémon causes trouble for those it feels close to is because Impidimp itself gets irritable if it can’t absorb negative emotions.
- Violet
They live in groups, pestering and playing pranks on each other to polish their troublemaking skills.

- Its line is also the first male-only Pokémon introduced since Generation V.

- Impidimp and Arrokuda were shown off in some pre-release footage but never acknowledged.
- Impdimp and Hatenna can be seen as counterparts:
- Both Pokémon are only able to be one gender. Impidimp can only be male while Hatenna can only be female.
- Both are based on creatures from mythology.
- Both of their final evolutions are part Fairy-type Pokémon that have the ability to Gigantamax and are the ace Pokémon of two different rivals introduced in their debut games (Hatterene is Bede's ace Pokémon while Grimmsnarl is Marnie's ace Pokémon).
- Both evolve at the same levels, first evolving at Level 32 and reaching their final evolution at Level 42.
- Both of them are in the Fairy egg group.
Origin[]
Impidimp is based on an imp, possibly the Lincoln Imp in particular. It may also take inspiration from other types of fairy-like creatures in folklore such as goblins or gremlins. Its small wings on the back of its head as well as its large ears resembling horns could be a reference to depictions of small devils/demons.
Etymology[]
Impidimp is derived from "imp", "impediment", and "impudent". It may also come from "simper" (to smile) and "dimpsey" (a term used to refer to the time of day near dusk, hence its Dark typing).
Berobā may be a combination of ベロ (bero, tongue) and ベロベロバァ (beroberoba, peekaboo).
