Hydrapple (Japanese: カミツオロチ, Hepburn: Kamitsuorochi) is a Grass/Dragon-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IX.
Biology[]
Physiology[]
Hydrapple is a serpentine dragon-like Pokémon that lives in a candy apple, in which appears similar to its pre-evolution, Dipplin. There are seven 'Syrpents' that inhabit this apple, two of which only have their tails showing, which they use to move this Pokémon around. Four other heads are often hidden in the syrup of the apple, which they then only have the back of their eyes showing. The final head is in the center of the apple, and is distinguished by its much longer neck, and two horns on its head, the right one has an apple appearing similar to Applin’s.
Behavior[]
The center head of Hydrapple is the commander of the Pokémon. The many heads have unstable personalities, but on the occasion, they can decide to attack as one, they can unleash their true power.
Natural Abilities[]
In addition to the syrup-based abilities of its pre-evolved form, Hydrapple's signature move, Fickle Beam, implies they can also shoot lasers out of their mouth.
Evolution[]
Hydrapple evolves from Dipplin when levelled up while knowing Dragon Cheer, which in turn evolves from Applin when a Syrupy Apple is used on it. Along with Flapple and Appletun it is one of Applin's final forms.

Trivia[]
- Hydrapple is the only member of a split-evolution Pokémon family that evolves twice but has its other members evolve once.
- Hydrapple is the only fully-evolved member of the split-evolution Applin family which doesn't have a Gigantamax form, but has its other fully-evolved members have a Gigantamax form (the same Gigantamax form).
Origin[]
Much like it's pre-evolutions, Hydrapple is based on a worm in a apple, and the wyrm dragon. As its appearance and English name suggest, it's also based on multi-headed serpents such as the Lernean Hydra.
Etymology[]
Hydrapple is derived from "hydra" and "apple".
