Kecleon first appeared to battle in the Silver Conference. It went up against Ash and his Pikachu.[1] Kecleon blended itself with the field's colors to make itself invisible, though its stripe was still visible. Pikachu went to use Quick Attack, but lost trace of Kecleon, who used Lick on it. Kecleon then used its tongue to grasp Pikachu and toss it before attacking it with Psybeam. Pikachu avoided the attack and hid itself among the grass, avoiding Kecleon's Lick and forcing it to cut the grass. However, Pikachu managed to grab Kecleon by its tongue and defeat it with a Thunderbolt.[2]
