Hamber is the second-in-command of the Explorers, and a major antagonist appearing in Pokémon Horizons: The Series. He is Diana's former friend, and Amethio's guardian and butler.
Appearance[]
Personality[]
Hamber is overall stoic and serious, taking his position diligently. Despite his classy, calm manners and use of honorifics, he can be authoritative enough to scare his subordinates into submission with a composed expression.
Despite his austerity, Hamber has a softer side, being someone who truly cares about Amethio's well-being.
Biography[]
Past[]
Hamber used to travel with Diana when they were young, and they were friends once.[1]
Until at one point of his life, Hamber came across Gibeon, who helped him when he had lost directions during a journey. Since then, Hamber had become part of the Explorers, as well as swearing loyalty to Gibeon. Sometime after Amethio's mother's passing in a car accident, Hamber had been serving as Amethio's guardian ever since.[2]
A few months prior to the events of Horizons, Diana started to have noticed that Hamber had brought some suspicious company and believed that they were after the pendant when approaching her for his request. As a result, Diana broke off their friendship, which led to Hamber's resentment towards her.[3]
Pokémon Horizons: The Series[]
After buying time for Liko, Roy and Friede to escape, Diana met Hamber again, and she confronted him about why Explorers, who used to be friends with Lucius, were now hounding after Terapagos. She then escaped with her Arcanine when Coral and Sidian caused an explosion, Hamber received a call from Gibeon.[4]
Sometime later, Hamber got to meet up with Diana again, and they started rebuilding their friendship after Hamber helped Diana capture a new Pokémon. She thanked Hamber for the temporary company, while also received information from him about five of the Six Heroes being held captive by Spinel, who was still hellbent on destroying the Rising Volt Tacklers, and that Amethio and Liko would be crucial to break down Spinel's nefarious plan. This prompted Diana to visit the Rising Volt Tacklers again after saying goodbye to Hamber.[5]
