Two Hues (Injigo, Indigo?) is the 3rd and final episode of Pokémon: Hisuian Snow.

Synopsis[]

After many years, Alec returns to the Hisui region to collect the medicinal plants he learned as a child… and maybe see an old friend.[1]

Episode plot[]

A group of children with masks plays around a town. One of them has dropped a box, so Alec takes it up and shakes it. He hands it to the children, who thank him. The children take him to a man carving wood: his father. The two converse, with his father admitting he moved to this town shortly after Alec left, three years ago. He asks his son what has he been doing. Alec asks for permission to stay, for he wants to search for plants in Alabaster Forest. His father stops working for a bit, and dismisses Alec to be a wannabe doctor.

Alec remains silent, but upon hearing a roar, he rushes to the tower to see what is going on. At the tower, Cyllene explains that they do not know what is with the black sphere in the distance, but remarks it has been appearing more often. They notice an injured Rowlet flying, so Alec goes past the gate to tend to him. He tries to get help, but instead sees the people closing the town's gate. The children are concerned about the Pokémon, but the citizens shush them.

At evening, Alec raises the warning to the people that there could be more injured Pokémon. The townsfolk disagree, for they do not have any benefits to help Pokémon, wishing they would just go. Cyllene thinks they should go - not to help Pokémon - but to investigate the black sphere. The townsfolk grumble, seeing it is necessary to do that. At morning, Alec's father approaches his son, asking why does he care about Pokémon. Alec admits he doesn't know, either, but thinking of Zorua that cured him, he wishes to learn more. As Alec is tying his shoes, his father gives him boots, which would suffice better for the snow terrain.

The townsfolk, along with Alec, his father, and Cyllene, roam to the Alabaster Forest. The woman asks Alec if he is afraid; Alec denies, for he wants to see someone. As they descend down, a shadow passes by. Alec looks to his side, and finds the healing plant. As he goes to harvest it, the sky darkens, forming a black sphere. The group wanders into the sphere, and after the gusts of wind calm down, they find two angry Abomasnow and two Snover. Alec approaches them, noting that the Abomasnow are protecting the Snover. Despite Cyllene's warnings, Alec comes to the Abomasnow, showing the healing plant he wants to use on Snover.

The Abomasnow look behind for a moment, then charge towards Alec. Alec stands guard, and his father becomes concerned about this attack, but the Abomasnow simply pass by, and attack a furious Garchomp instead. Alec tends to the Pokémon, while the rest of the group watches this. The people of the village listen to the roars from the forest. Alec and the group hides behind a rock, while the Abomasnow keep fighting the Garchomp. Alec proposes taking Snover to the village, but the blue-haired woman reminds they don't have the equipment to do that. The Abomasnow keep fighting, but the Garchomp manages to slam its tail and strike an Abomasnow.

The group sees they cannot remain here for too long. Alec states the rest could leave, but Cyllene cannot permit Alec to stay. Alec's father comes with a sleigh, which they could pull the Snover away. The Garchomp, after defeating the two Abomasnow, turns its attention to the group, who has left the black sphere. The Garchomp charges and is ready to attack them all, but looks at a Zorua mask, which forms a flame figure. The figure leaps towards Garchomp, who stops and runs away. Alec looks at the figure, which is formed as a Zoroark.

Alec wakes up, as does the rest of the group. He looks at the two Snover, who have recovered a bit, and sees the Zoroark figure roaming in the woods. He jumps, running to meet with it again, remembering the memories he has of Zorua. However, he finds a Zoroark mask on a log. As he takes it, the blue-haired woman asks him what is he doing. Alec mutters that a friend of his came to help them. Taking the injured Snover on a sleigh, the group bids farewell to Abomasnow, and come back to the town, where the children are happy to see them alive.

After taking the Pokémon to town and curing them, Cyllene looks at a ball, resembling a Poké Ball. Alec's father admits he does not understand why would people want to involve themselves with Pokémon, but maybe they could do something together. At the docks, he passes a mask to his son, asking of him to visit more often. Alec smiles, and as he departs, he looks at the purple Zoroark mask. He equips it on, and utters a loud howl.
