Snagem Head Gonzap is a reoccurring antagonist that appears in the games Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness. He is the leader of Team Snagem and formerly aligned with Cipher.
Appearance[]
Gonzap is a large, muscular man whose most notable features is his long eyebrows and mustache.
Personality[]
Gonzap is a very serious man and doesn't like to get betrayed by others. Gonzap, however, will show respect to others that can defeat him in battle as he allowed Wes to proceed further to the Realgam Colosseum and gave back the Snag Machine to Michael.
Biography[]
Colosseum[]
In this game, Gonzap is a major antagonist as he and the rest of Team Snagmen aligned with Cipher. Gonzap created the Snag Machine that is able to capture Shadow Pokémon. However, Gonzap is betrayed by Wes who didn't like his ideas. Wes destroyed Team Sangem's Base and took the Snag Machine away leaving Gonzap furious. Gonzap later confronts Wes at Realgam Tower before he heads into the stadium and challenges him to a Pokémon battle. However, Gonzap is defeated and decides to head back to his base.
Gonzap can later be fought in his base where he has much stronger Pokémon than before. After being defeated a second time at his own base, Gonzap tells Wes more about the Under's hidden colosseum.
XD: Gale of Darkness[]
Gonzap's role is lessened in this game. Gonzap and the rest of Team Snagem ambush Michael as he was leaving S.S. Libra and takes his Snag Machine. Later, Gonzap battles Michael and, after being defeated, gladly hands over the Sang Machine (since it was too small to fit on his arm). As Michael attempts to get into Cipher Key Lair, two guards stop him. Gonzap then has his men use Gloom's Sleep Powder to put the guards to sleep and allows Michael to pass. Gonzap also appears briefly in the ending sequence as he can be seen alongside Michael and his many friends/allies he has made throughout the game.
Gonzap can be later fought at the Orre Colosseum where he has much stronger Pokémon than before. He is fought at the end of round 5.
