This Inteleon is a Water-type Pokémon owned by Goh. As a Sobble, he would usually stay outside of his Poké Ball, unless he ended up hit with a powerful attack following the urge to cry. Although, this became rare following the evolution of Goh's Raboot to Cinderace.
Personality[]
As a Sobble, he was a timid crybaby that tended to turn himself invisible and use his tears just to avoid interacting with others. However, after witnessing Goh attempting to save him from Team Rocket, Sobble gained the bravery he needed to get out of his imprisonment and fight back. Also, Sobble has taken a liking to Goh, and even cried in joy when Goh praised him for his bravery. Through having Goh as his Trainer, Sobble has seemed to calm down a bit, and not crying as much as he used to. He is also shown that Sobble has a huge emotional need for attention.[1]
Sobble likes hiding in small, secluded, and dark places like drawers and cupboards if not with Goh.
Ever since meeting Jacqueline's Inteleon, Sobble vowed to strengthen his backbone to be as cool and brave as his idol.
Initially, Sobble had difficulty battling, as he was too focused on his own safety to dare to attack. Recognizing this, Goh decided to develop his camouflaging ability instead, focusing on getting at a safe distance before attacking with Water Gun. Thanks to this training, Sobble became able to fend off Team Rocket by himself, learning U-turn and gaining confidence in himself in the process, enough to play a prank on Goh's Darmanitan by hiding in a tree and spraying him with Water Gun as payback for Darmanitan's own prior pranks.
After evolving into Drizzile, he became much more of a loner, feeling uncomfortable when others try to drag him out of his comfort zone. He also became more somber, owing to the disappointment of not evolving into an Inteleon as he has wished for, and Drizzile himself is not aware of what further conditions of his species evolution line he must go through, in order to achieve his final evolution into Inteleon.
After evolving into Inteleon, he managed to fulfill his dream of becoming fast and powerful, and was no longer a loner. Also, Inteleon developed a cool, calm, and collected gentleman personality, just like his idol.
Relationships[]
Goh[]
Sobble and Goh's relationship started off slightly rough, due to how sensitive he is, and he never had a Pokémon that has needed as much gentle care and attention as Sobble.
Sobble, similarly to Goh's other partner, Cinderace, originally lived in a bustling city and had to steal food to survive. When Goh confronted Sobble, he told him that he wasn't angry at him, but praised him for his ability to turn invisible, even saying that if he joined his team then they could eat together every day if he wanted to. Goh ends up catching Sobble by pure luck. When Goh sends out Sobble to fight a wild Silicobra without asking him and ends up getting hurt, he begins to cry and runs away, eventually getting captured by Team Rocket.
When Goh puts himself in danger to rescue him, Sobble becomes determined to escape and return to his Trainer. After defeating Team Rocket, Sobble was given an apology from Goh for being inconsiderate of his feelings. Also, Sobble was praised by Goh for his bravery, along with saying that his timidity allows him to better protect his friends, and that makes him strong. Hearing those words, Sobble starts to cry out of joy.
Since his capture, Goh and Sobble have had a mutually happy relationship as he joins his Trainer on his adventures, seeing many times either walking next to him or sitting on his shoulder. Sobble has a tendency to pop out of invisibility next to Goh, usually scaring him due to the sudden appearance. Also, Sobble doesn't like to be separated from Goh unless he's with someone he knows.
Initially, Drizzile distanced himself from Goh after evolving, but the two have since made up after having a heart to heart under the stars, with Goh letting Drizzile stay in his den as much as he wants. However, Drizzile renews his bond with Goh when they teamed up to stop someone from stealing Professor Cerise's research. Also, upon witnessing Goh defending him, Drizzile realized that his Trainer is still there for him and his friendship with him allows him to evolve into Inteleon. After those events, Inteleon and Goh's bond of friendship became much stronger.
Cinderace[]
Sobble and Cinderace quickly developed a sibling-like bond with each other, due to how much time they spend together as Goh's main partners. Also, Sobble would go to Cinderace for protection and cares deeply for it. When not seen with Goh, Sobble will be near Cinderace, sometimes riding on his shoulder or head.
Sobble and Cinderace make time to be together as they enjoy each other's company. In addition, Sobble would also calmed down by Cinderace.
When Cinderace knew that Sobble had evolved into Drizzile, it was overjoyed but unintentionally upset Drizzile by constantly dragging him around. Cinderace later learned to respect Drizzile's boundaries and allows him to stay in his den as long as he wants. After Drizzile evolved into Inteleon, it is shown to respect him, as well as showing a partnership with Inteleon, this was shown in Arceus Who is Known as a God: Part 3.
Biography[]
As Sobble[]
While investigating a Pokémon Center in Wyndon in the Galar region, Sobble witnessed Ash training with his Riolu and Farfetch'd. The loud noises caused Sobble to tear up and become invisibile, leading to them running away.[2]
The next day, Sobble attempted to steal all of Ash and Goh's food by using his invisibility to avoid detection. However, after he was caught in the act by Goh, he turned invisible and ran into a corner. When everyone tried to approach Sobble, he began to cry, causing everyone else to cry in response. Sobble used the opportunity to escape, running into a fountain outside of the Pokémon Center. After Goh was told by Nurse Joy that Sobble may be hiding there, Goh introduced himself and complimented Sobble on his invisibility skill, asking Sobble to join his team. When Sobble didn't respond, Goh threw a Poké Ball in frustration, which hit Sobble, capturing him successfully by pure luck. Goh later brought Sobble out to fight against a Silicobra that he wanted to catch. Sobble managed to get some good hits in with Water Gun and Pound, but once he got hit in the face, he began to cry and ran away. While Sobble was running away, he was accidentally hit by Jessie of Team Rocket, which knocked him out. While Sobble was knocked out, Team Rocket decided to capture him. When Goh appeared and tried to save him, Sobble was filled with courage and determination, leading to Sobble breaking out of his cage and running back to his Trainer. Goh apologized to Sobble for making him battle without asking him first, and told him that his timidness was what makes him strong, which caused Sobble to cry happy tears. Some time after this, Goh brings Sobble back to Cerise Laboratory in the Kanto region.[3]
At the Cerise Laboratory, Sobble unintentionally made the boys and many of their Pokémon cry. The boys struggled to search for him due to him being invisible, until Goh's Butterfree and Venomoth flushed him out with Stun Spore and Ash's Dragonite gave him a hug, which calmed him down, causing him to fall asleep. Sobble then listened to Professor Cerise as he told everyone why Chloe became so indifferent about Pokémon.[1]
Sobble later watched from the sidelines as Ash obsessively trained with Riolu. After this obsession pushed Pikachu to the brink, causing him to run away, Goh brought Sobble and Raboot to Pallet Town after Ash believed that the only place Pikachu could go was his mom's house.[4]
Goh brought Sobble on a family vacation to Azalea Town in the Johto region. Upon arriving, Sobble followed Goh to Ilex Forest in the hopes of capturing some Johto Pokémon. When Goh is reminded of his troubled past by several Pokémon, Goh explained to Sobble and Raboot of his history with a boy named Horace and that his eventual betrayal is the reason why he finds it so hard to make and keep friends. When Goh learns that Horace was simply sick and didn't abandon him, Sobble is by his side to comfort him. Sobble then meets Horace and his Chikorita before returning home to the Kanto Region.[5]
Around this time, Sobble and Raboot began to form a tight, sibling-like bond with each other due to the fact that they were both Goh's main partners. Goh then took the both of them to a nearby Pokémon Center to participate in a Pokémon Trading event. Sobble soon met an eccentric Bug-type Pokémon collector named Kricketina Kylie, who was looking for a Pinsir to trade for due to the fact that Pinsir are not native to her home region of Sinnoh. When Goh rejects her offer of trading his Pinsir for her Heracross, Sobble joins the rest of the group in helping her search for a wild one to capture herself. Sobble soon finds himself captured by Team Rocket, along with Ash, Pikachu, Raboot, and Koromi. Goh and Heracross manage to send Team Rocket blasting off, saving Sobble and the rest of the group. A wild Pinsir soon appears, but since Koromi is still captured, Goh captures it instead. Seeing how Goh's Pinsir and Koromi's Heracross were in love, Goh decided to trade his new Pinsir for her Heracross. Sobble returned to the Pokémon Center to watch the exchange take place.[6]
Sobble joined Goh and Raboot on a trip to a Dojo at Saffron City in the hopes of obtaining either a Hitmonlee or Hitmonchan. While Sobble was there, Ash decided to have a battle with the Dojo Master, but when he went to challenge him, he had already been defeated by another trainer. The trainer ended up being Bea, the Fighting-type Gym Leader of the Galar region. Her sharp glare immediately made Sobble become nervous and turn invisible. Ash decided to battle her instead, but ended up being utterly defeated, with her beating both his Farfetch'd and Riolu without losing a single Pokémon. Sobble then joined Goh as he battled the Dojo Master to earn the right to pick either Hitmonlee or Hitmonchan. Goh ended up winning and decided to pick Hitmonchan.[7]
When Goh suddenly wanted to capture a Pikachu for himself and learned of a nearby outbreak of them, he took Sobble and Raboot with him. Sobble and the rest soon met a very polite Pikachu, who offered everyone Pecha Berries. After Goh captured her, she led everyone to a canyon full of Pikachu and Raichu. While Sobble and the rest were watching them, Team Rocket attacked. Raboot attempted to protect Sobble, but Sobble ended up taking a direct hit from one of Team Rocket's Pokémon. Team Rocket captures Ash's Pikachu and escapes. Everyone tracked the villains down and iniated a rematch, in which Sobble put in some work against Team Rocket. When Goh's Pikachu got into trouble, Goh evolved her into a Raichu using a Thunder Stone to turn the tide of the match. Team Rocket is defeated and sent blasting off. Upon returning home, Raichu attempts to overfeed Sobble, causing him to turn invisible and hop onto Goh for protection.[8]
When a mysterious sandstorm formed at Mauville City in the Hoenn region, Sobble joined Goh and Raboot to help investigate. Sobble spent most of his time invisible and near Goh out of fear. When they reached the center of the sandstorm, they discovered that a wild Flygon was the one who had caused the sandstorm. Flygon attempted to deter them with Sandstorm, but Goh had Sobble use his Water Gun attack to solidify the sand, nullifying the attack. Sobble landed two direct hits onto Flygon, but was eventually hit by its Dragon Rush, causing him to cry. Goh quickly returned him before his crying could cause problems. [9]
After Goh's Exeggcute evolved into Exeggutor, Ash suggested that they visit the Alola region so they could meet an Alolan Exeggutor. Goh, determined to catch one, agreed, and took both Sobble and Raboot with him. Upon arrival, Sobble met Professor Kukui, who quickly overwhelmed the Water Lizard Pokémon into becoming invisible. Professor Kukui took them back to his house, and Sobble soon found himself smothered in affection by Ash's Rowlet, Lycanroc, Incineroar, and Melmetal. Afterwards, Sobble enjoyed one of Alola's many beaches, before running into a Pyumuku, which Goh quickly captured. While chasing after a wild Grubbin, Sobble, along with Raboot and Goh, fell off a cliff, which caused them to land in the ocean. They were quickly fished up by a young girl, who introduced herself as Lana. She would later go on to call Sobble "cute".
When Goh introduced himself, she recognized him as one of Ash's friends and took him, Sobble, and Raboot back to the Pokémon School. There, Sobble met Mallow and Sophocles, along with all of their Pokémon. Sobble felt extremely overwhelmed by how outgoing and friendly they were. Sobble then witnessed as Kiawe and Goh had a small stand-off before Ash returned, along with a Rotom Dex. Sobble then joined all of the Pokémon in a party dedicated in their honor. When Kiawe challenged Goh to a battle, Sobble temporarily let Mallow hold him. When Goh earned Kiawe's respect, they took a trip to Treasure Island, where Goh battled and captured an Alolan Exeggutor. Afterwards, Sobble returned home to Cerise Labs.[10]
Goh brought Sobble with him to a movie shooting in Vermilion City, where he immediately took a liking to the Inteleon in the leading role. This made Sobble want to become brave and strong like Inteleon, but he was too scared during battle training. Eventually, Goh came up with a method to use Sobble's cowardice to his advantage by using him as a basis for a hit-and-run strategy. When a film crew member's Gothita was stolen by Team Rocket, Ash and Goh went to rescue it, but were caught in a cage, with Sobble being left to deal with Meowth and Wobbuffet alone. His new hit-and-run strategy proved useful in combination with his invisibility until he got busted after James covered him in chalk dust and was revealed. Although Goh told him to run, Sobble managed to muster enough courage to stand his ground, learning U-turn to defeat Meowth and Wobbuffet before helping Ash and Goh to escape the cage. After Team Rocket was defeated, Jacqueline arrived at the site with the rest of the film crew and congratulated Sobble for his effort, much to his delight.[11]
Sobble was seen training his Water Gun attack and stealth skills when Ash and Goh were being interviewed. He saved Goh's Oddish by blasting away a Sitrus Berry that Goh's Spearow nearly dropped onto Oddish, evolving into Drizzile soon after.[12]
As Drizzile[]
Unaware of his appearance, Drizzile happily wandered around Cerise Park until he saw his reflection in the water, which made him horrified as he did not evolve into Inteleon like he expected. After being thrown around Cerise Park by Goh's other Pokémon, Drizzile took refuge in several burrows, but he was eventually found by Goh and Grookey, though they failed to make him react. Cinderace then dragged Drizzile out of his hole to show him to Ash and Chloe. The still depressed Drizzile turned invisible and ran away. Goh later found Drizzile near a ruined building and had an emotional conversation with the Water Lizard Pokémon, as well as letting Drizzile stay in his den for as long as he wanted. Drizzile then returned to Cerise Park the next day, much to Goh's relief.[12] When Raichu was giving its food to Drizzile, he tried to eat some, but Morpeko then took it. Drizzile wasn't hungry anyway, and willingly gave his food to Morpeko, showing his generous side.[13] Drizzile secretly trained himself outside at night, but he was still thinking about being an Inteleon, but when he saw Kecleon trying to steal the data, he saw through her pattern and sprayed her with Water Gun. He later battled Kecleon, and looked like he was going to lose, but when Goh protected him, he evolved into Inteleon.[14]
As Inteleon[]
Upon evolution, he revealed to Goh that he learned Snipe Shot, which he used to stop Gizmo Bilt and Kecleon from escaping. He later rescued Gizmo Bilt and Kecleon, Inteleon disappeared soon after, but reappeared again after the data was retrieved, and he and Goh rekindled their bond by rejoining the active party.[14]
Inteleon was brought out to battle Roggenrola by using Snipe Shot and success on capturing until they were encounter by other Roggenrola and escape onto the mine cart later Inteleon was brought to put out the fire alongside Ash's Dracovish and Krabby and tried their hardest to put it out but no avail but kept on trying.
Inteleon battled against Kingdra and revealed to have learned Liquidation.[15]
Inteleon battled against Team Rocket, after they take Pikachu again, with Ash's Lucario. However, they ended up being taken to an alternate universe a very power and evil version of Team Rocket from another dimension.[16]
Inteleon and Lucario was shown inside a cage alongside all the other stolen Pokémon and the Alternative World Team Rocket forced it to devolve him and Lucario back into Drizzile and Riolu. After Dialga and Palkia attacked again, Drizzile devolved to Sobble and both he and Riolu turned into eggs. Moments after, Ash, his friends, and their Alternate World counterparts, along with some help from Cynthia, Alternate World Professor Rowan, Jessie, James, and Alternate World Nurse Joy, prayed for Dialga and Palkia to stop fighting and pleaded them to turn their Pokémon back to their normal forms. Just then, a bright golden silhouette of Arceus appeared, calmed the temporal and spacial Pokémon down and destroyed the Red Chain that the Alternate World Team Rocket had them binded by. Dialga and Palkia then fixed the damage their fighting caused and returned everyone back to their respective dimensions, while also granting their wish to reverse the devolution effects on all of their Pokémon, returning Sobble all the way back to Inteleon and returning Riolu back to Lucario.[17]
He was used in the Project Mew mission in Sea Mauville, where he revealed to have learned Mud Shot. After defeating Vikavolt and Liepard, it came down to Goh and Horace being the last two left, despite his best efforts, Horace's Gardevoir finally broke Inteleon's winning streak when he was eventually defeated by Moonblast, suffering his very first loss since evolving.[18]

Trivia[]
- Inteleon is the third fully evolved Water-type starter Pokémon to be owned by a main character, with the first and second being Ash's Greninja and Lana's Primarina, respectively.
- Inteleon and Brock's Marshtomp are the only Water-type First partner Pokémon owned by any of Ash's male companions.
- Since Sobble, Grookey, and Scorbunny were all caught by Goh, this marks the first time one of Ash's companions has caught all of the three First partner Pokémon from the newest region, which in this case is Galar.
- Since its capture as a Sobble, Inteleon never lost a battle under Goh's ownership, until Narrowing the Chaser Chase!, where he suffered his very first loss to Horace's Gardevoir.
- This could be a repeat to when Ash's Dragonite suffered her first loss to Raihan's Flygon during the previous episode. In this case, it was Inteleon who (much like Ash's Dragonite) suffered his first loss.
- However, when Inteleon was a Sobble, his first loss didn't count when battling Flygon in Making Battles in the Sand! after being hit by Dragon Rush, but wasn't actually defeated during that time, as he wasn't knocked out; he got up soon after and began to cry, forcing Goh to recall him back to his Poké Ball in the nick of time before his crying could cause problems.
