This Caterpie is a Bug-type Pokémon owned by Goh.
Biography[]
Caterpie was encountered at Vermilion Forest. Goh caught Caterpie after finding it eating a leaf. Caterpie and the rest of the Kanto Bug-type Pokémon Goh caught were brought back to the Cerise Laboratory where Professor Cerise kept them in storage for Goh.[1]
While Goh and Ash were searching for the Mythical Pokémon Mew on Cero Island, they ran into a muddy bog which dragged them down like quicksand when they tried to walk through it. Thinking fast, Goh sent out Caterpie and had it use String Shot to create a sturdy ropeway that they could use to cross the mud. Once Caterpie accomplished this, Goh returned it to its Poké Ball.[2]
