Biography[]
Pokémon the Series: The Beginning[]
The ghost was a woman from 2,000 years ago whose lover went to fight in a war. She went on a peak waiting every day for him to return, "I'll wait for you forever, come back to me, farewell." but he never did. It is implied that he was killed in combat. However, she still waited on the cliff until she turns herself into statue like the cliff she stood upon and now her soul still roams the peak, waiting for her beloved one to return. She has a painting of herself as well. It has hung as long as the tale its self. At one point, her ghost met and befriended a talking Gastly, whose origins are a mystery.
When the heroes and Team Rocket realized that the Gastly was using illusions to keep the maiden's legend alive, the Gastly promised the real ghost that if he saw her lover, it would tell him she's waiting on the peak, and she thanked it.
