A very appealing move, but after using this move, the user is more easily startled.

Flare Blitz is a damage dealing Fire-type move introduced in Generation IV. It can be seen as a Fire- type counterpart to Brave Bird.

Description

Games Description
DPPtHGSS The user cloaks itself in fire and charges at the foe. The user sustains serious damage, too.
BWB2W2 The user cloaks itself in fire and charges at the target. The user sustains serious damage and may leave the target burned.
XYORAS
SMUSUMPE
The user cloaks itself in fire and charges at the target. This also damages the user quite a lot. This may leave the target with a burn.
SWSH The user cloaks itself in fire and charges the target. This also damages the user quite a lot. This attack may leave the target with a burn.

Effect

In battle

Flare Blitz does damage and has a 10% chance to burn the target. Flare Blitz will cause the user to receive recoil damage that is equal to 1/3 the damage dealt to the target. In a Double Battle, Flare Blitz can target any Pokémon around the user. In a Triple Battle, Flare Blitz can only target a Pokémon that's adjacent to the user. If the user is frozen, Flare Blitz will thaw the user out, then inflict the damage on the user.
