The Beginning of the End with Kyogre & Groudon XI (Japanese: VS カイオーガ & グラードン XI, Hepburn: VS Kyogre & Groudon XI) is the 11th and final chapter of Pokémon Adventures: Volume 20.
Synopsis[]
Ruby and Sapphire are being pulled by Maxie and Archie towards a certain place. Gabby and Ty encounter them, riding Absol and realize they, as well as Kyogre and Groudon, are going to Sootopolis City.
Chapter plot[]
Maxie and Archie start cackling, as the Orbs are absorbed into their hands. Kiki goes to retrieve them back, but Archie hits her, as his and Maxie's hand change appearance. Archie and Maxie become twisted by powers of Kyogre and Groudon and fire a bolt towards Ruby and Sapphire. Kiki uses Assist, which turns into Lairon's Iron Defense, stopping the attack. Ruby considers lucky Kiki used this move, since Lairon is too exhausted to move. Archie jumps to attack Sapphire, but Ruby takes her away, having Mumu use Mud Sport on Archie instead. Sapphire, seeing Ruby rescued her, realizes she had this feeling years ago.
Suddenly, Archie and Maxie grab Sapphire and Ruby, then take them away. Maxie and Archie crush the cave's ceiling, causing everyone to float up, including the fainted grunts of Team Aqua and Magma. Ruby realizes Kyogre and Groudon are calling the leaders to give them the Orbs. Groudon and Kyogre are set upon the destination, a location where they had their battle that nearly destroyed the Hoenn region. At Slateport City, Captain Stern, Dock and the Pokémon fan club chairman climb the rope, up to the Association HQ aircraft. Ty decides to stay with Gabby, pointing out the Pokémon they encountered before: Absol.
Ty goes after Absol, but Absol escapes his grasp. Ty notices the volcanic ashes, seeing Absol was at Mt. Chimney, before the volcano stopped its activity. Ty thinks Absol is either the one pulling the strings of Team Aqua and Magma, or simply creates the disasters. Gabby stops Ty, thinking Absol does not create disasters, but warns them about it. Absol confirms this and lets Gabby and Ty ride on its back. Gabby and Ty realize it is warning them Kyogre and Groudon will meet each other and clash somewhere, which could cause the destruction of Hoenn region. Ruby and Sapphire are pulled by Maxie and Archie and part ways with each other. Gabby and Ty ride Absol and see Ruby and Sapphire being dragged from the leaders. Ty sees they are going to Sootopolis City, a crater of a long-dead volcano.
There are 25 days left until Ruby and Sapphire conclude their bet.
