Inland City is an anime-exclusive location in Johto, more specifically located on the southern end of Blue Point Isle. It is a large port city and is known as the entrance to the Whirl Islands. The city hosts the registration building for the Whirl Cup. The city has many 2 or 3-story buildings, and off its shore is a blue rock from which Blue Point Isle's name originated.
In the anime, Ash & Co. are pulled into a whirlpool and arrive at Inland City, where they discover the existence of the Whirl Cup, which Ash and Misty decide to enter. However, another unnamed trainer with a Feraligatr ultimately wins.
