The Last Battle IV (Japanese: 最終決戦IV, Hepburn: The Last Battle IV) is the 4th chapter of Pokémon Adventures: Volume 14.
Synopsis[]
Misty, Blaine and Lt. Surge attack the Masked Man, who uses Ho-Oh and Lugia to back him up. The three Legendary Beasts attack with all their might, trying to stop Ho-Oh. The Masked Man tries to attack them personally, but falls into a trap.
Chapter plot[]
The Masked Man is ambushed by Misty, Lt. Surge and Blaine, whose Raikou, Suicune and Entei attack. The Masked Man is hit and knows well these three Legendary Beasts should be locked away in the Burned Tower. The Masked Man sends Ho-Oh and Lugia, who blast the three Pokémon away using Aeroblast and Sacred Flame. The Masked Man is pleased, for Ho-Oh and Lugia will blast them away if they continue to fight. Crystal observes as Entei blasts fire, countering Ho-Oh's attacks. The attacks intensify, so Lt. Surge, Misty and Blaine give items to Raikou, Suicune and Entei. Their attacks merge and blast Ho-Oh and Lugia away.
Crystal is glad the Gym Leaders made a retaliation, for Blaine gave a charcoal to Entei, Lt. Surge a magnet to Raikou and Misty the mystic water to Suicune. The Masked Man goes to attack Misty, who Misty has Suicune use Rain Dance, lowering Ho-Oh's attacks. Misty thinks she should send Starmie, who may understand what Suicune is saying. She soon hears the Masked Man captured Ho-Oh nine years ago and used it to capture trainers with good qualities, so he may use them to research time itself. However, Raikou, Suicune and Entei promised to stop the Masked Man from these evil intents.
The Masked Man confirms that, even if they don't stand a chance against Ho-Oh, for they are its servants. Also, they once won, but were sealed in the Burned Tower by the Masked Man. However, the Masked Man replies that they couldn't defeat him then and they can't do so now, ordering Ho-Oh to attack. Raikou, Entei and Suicune try to persuade Ho-Oh to return to the Burned Tower, for it is serving an evil man. However, Ho-Oh attacks Suicune, while the Masked Man tries to remove Misty, who made a promise to Suicune, for he will not go away. The Masked Man asks her why does she think she can stop him.
However, Suicune appears and encases the Masked Man in a crystal wall. Meanwhile, Prof. Elm and Joey are at the lab and cannot receive radio transmissions. Elm wonders what happened, for everything should've gone as expected. He wonders something happened to Gold, but Joey believes Gold will stand up soon and fight the Masked Man, knowing Gold's intentions.
