Farigiraf (Japanese: リキキリン, Hepburn: Rikikirin) (fuh-RIG-uh-ra[1]) is a Normal/Psychic-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IX. It is the evolution of Girafarig.
Biology[]
Physiology[]
Farigiraf is a giraffe-like Pokémon. Its body and the upper section of its hoofed legs are colored orange while its belly and the lower section of its legs are colored light yellow. Brown spots surround the base of its long brown neck, which has orange spots on its front and triangular spines on its back, each tipped with a yellow arrow-like mark. Its main head is orange with a yellow section on its muzzle and a pink snout. The main head also has eyelashes and three brown spots below each eye. Surrounding its main head is a round, black secondary head with yellow eyes, several triangular teeth, and four bulbous ossicones.
Behavior[]
The thick, sturdy head from its tail provides good defense for the head of the main body. When the head from its tail closes its mouth, Farigiraf whips its long neck around in an attack that deals brutal physical damage. The force of this attack is said to be able to pulverize stone and crush steel beams.[2]
Natural abilities[]
As a result of its Evolution, the head of its main body and the head from its tail have become one. Both of Farigiraf's brains are connected through thick nerves, increasing its psychic energy, and it can emit psychic waves from the antennae on its head. It’s always mindful of its surroundings, and while it can detect danger in an instant, there are times when its body cannot react as fast as its two brains can think.[2]
Evolution[]
Farigiraf evolves from Girafarig by learning Twin Beam while leveling up.

Trivia[]
- Just like its pre-evolution Girafarig, Farigiraf's name is a palindrome, meaning it is spelled the same backwards as is forward.
Origin[]
Farigiraf appears to be based on a giraffe. It may also take traits from the okapi, another giraffid. Its secondary head surrounding its main head resembles a sweatshirt hood or helmet. Its four antennae may also make it based on the Decennatherium, an extinct genus of giraffids that sported four horns.
Farigiraf's way of attacking through wildly swinging its neck may be based on the necking behavior seen in male giraffes, which is used in combat to establish dominance.
Farigiraf having two brains may have been inspired by the theory that dinosaurs had a second brain in their tail to help with defensive reflexes, with this theory predominantly being used with the Stegosaurus, which sports similar back plates to Farigiraf.
Etymology[]
Farigiraf comes from "giraffe", altered to become a palindrome.
