Falkner is a character appearing in Original series, who is the Gym Leader of Violet City in the Johto region.

Appearance

Falkner has blue eyes and blue hair, which covers his right eye. He wears wears a white sash, some indigo shorts and a pair of black wristbands with red outlines. He wears a plain light blue jacket with a white outline. Falkner has white socks and black shoes.

Personality

Falkner respects Flying-type Pokémon, with whom he wants to fly with in the sky. During the battle, Falkner comes off as slightly arrogant, pointing how his opponent, Ash, should surrender, as he comes at losing odds. However, after the battle, he decided to become the number one Flying Pokémon trainer.

Season 3: The Johto Journeys

Johto Gym Leaders — Falkner, among other Gym Leaders.

Falkner is the Johto League Gym Leader of Violet City, who dedicated his life to train Flying-type Pokémon. After rescuing Pikachu from Team Rocket, he took Ash, Misty and Brock to the Gym, where Ash challenged him to a match. He used Hoothoot, Dodrio and Pidgeot to battle Ash's Pokémon, but was defeated by Charizard's Seismic Toss.

Season 4: Johto League Champions

Falkner, among other Johto Gym Leaders, appears in the opening scene of Pokémon: Johto League Champions.

Season 5: Master Quest

When Team Rocket stole Ash's badges, Ash remembered his fights with the Johto Gym Leaders, as his Pokémon were responsible for winning those badges.
