Dr. Yung is a character in The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon.

Biography

Yung is the creator of the mirage system. He battled Misty using his Mirage Aggron, however when he battled Ash the mirage system apparently malfunctioned and was seemingly captured by Mirage Master. Professor Oak later reveals that Dr. Yung is Mirage Master. He, however, disappears at the end of the special, without a trace.

Dr. Yung disowned the Pokémon and wrote it off as a flawed specimen. It was first seen by Ash's Pikachu during the battle between Dr. Yung and Ash Ketchum. After Dr. Yung kidnapped Professor Oak, it met the Pokémon professor but was later forced to leave the room. Ash's Pikachu was then kidnapped and Mew helped Ash find Pikachu who had his memory read by a machine and was hurt. Mew was later seen again using Protect on itself to protect Pikachu, May's Combusken, Misty's Gyarados and Professor Oak's Dragonite. Dr. Yung had enough and ordered Mirage Mewtwo to teach Mew a lesson. The heroes witnessed Mew being struck with an Iron Tail, Mega Punch and a Solar Beam. Mew was then absorbed into the Mirage system, to which Dr. Yung remarked "good riddance flawed specimen." This angered Ash who along with the others decided to take vengance on Mewtwo. Just as Mewtwo was about to obliterate Pikachu and the others, it was restrained and Mew reappeared. Professor Oak stated that Mew was tucked into Mewtwo's data, then told the group that if they wanted to defeat Dr. Yung, they needed to attack while Mew was restraining Mewtwo. Ash then realized that it would cause Mew to disappear but then ordered Pikachu to use Volt Tackle, which hit Mewtwo. The heroes witnessed the Mirage system blowing up and watched Mewtwo dissolve along with Mew who smiled as it was absorbed into the database. Professor Oak then stated the reason the Mirage database exploded was because Mew possessed a soul and a soul couldn't be turned into data.}}
