Diglett's Cave is a location introduced in Generation I.
Description[]
Diglett's Cave is a tunnel in Kanto connecting Route 11 to Route 2. The cave runs in a north-south direction, going from northwest to southeast and passing under. In the Generation I games and the remakes Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version, only Diglett and rarely Dugtrio can be encountered here, also being the only location where they are encountered in general.
In the Generation II games and the remakes Pokémon HeartGold Version and Pokémon SoulSilver Version to access the cave, either via Route 11 or Vermilion City, the player has to battle a sleeping Snorlax at level 50 that blocks the way by tuning the radio to the Pokémon Flute channel, waking the Snorlax and initiating a battle against it.
The cave's length has fluctuated between games. In Generation II, it is slightly shorter than in Generation I and the remakes. In Pokémon HeartGold Version and Pokémon SoulSilver Version, the cave undergoes some notable changes compared to previous generations, also featuring raised bridges that connect to the edges of the higher walls of the cave and revealing more spaces to explore.

Appearances[]
Spinoffs[]
In Pokémon Race mini, there are two Diglett's Cave courses, both featuring Diglett as the opponent. The first Diglett's Cave is in Super Cup and Diglett's Cave 2 in the Hyper Cup.
Manga[]
Pokémon Adventures[]
In Pokémon Adventures, Diglett's Cave appears in "Make Way for Magmar!", where Red went through there to Pewter City.
Pokémon Pocket Monsters[]
At one point in Pokémon Pocket Monsters, specifically the sixth chapter, Diglett's Cave is more involved in the plot at one point in Pokémon Adventures, and arguably the core series. At one point Red and his Pokémon went to search for a rice ball that landed in there by accident, after his Pikachu and Clefairy fought over it. When Clefairy stepped on a Diglett, it blocked the entrance by performing an earthquake, briefly trapping Red and his Pokémon.
