Defog is a type move introduced in Generation IV. It is HM05 in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. The only way to be able use this in the field is by defeating the relevant Gym Leader; Crasher WakeDP or FantinaPt.

Effect[]
In Battle[]
If fog is present on the battlefield, Defog allows for it to be cleared. It also negates the effects of Light Screen, Mist, Reflect, Safeguard, Spikes, Stealth Rock, Sticky Web and Toxic Spikes.
Outside of Battle[]
In Generation IV, Defog has the ability to clear away all fog from an area, and allows for the entire area to be revealed. This effect lasts for the duration in which the player remains in the area. When the player leaves and enters, the fog will have returned.
