Characters decorating a Super-Secret Base in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire
Decorations are a type of item introduced in Generation II.
Description[]
Decorations are always used by the player to decorate a location of theirs, usually their bedroom or Secret Base. Decorations are not a required part of gameplay. Most decorations are furniture items, though Pokémon Dolls are decorations that do not fulfill this role. The player can add decorations to their area using a PC.
Appearances[]
Core series[]
Generation II[]
In Pokémon Gold Version and Pokémon Silver Version and Pokémon Crystal Version, most decorations are obtained through the Mystery Gift feature, but Pokémon Dolls are purchased by player's Mom with the player's Pokémon Dollars she has saved.
Generation III[]
In Pokémon Ruby Version and Pokémon Sapphire Version, Pokémon Emerald Version, and the remakes Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, a majority of decorations can only be bought, either on the fifth floor of the Lilycove Department Store or at a shop in Fortree City. They can decorate the player's bedroom, like before, or their Secret Base (Super-Secret Base in the remakes).
In the remakes, it is possible to obtain a considerable number of decorations from Secret Pals with the ability "Make some goods" or by talking to owners of other secret bases. However, both methods are only doable once a day.
Generation IV[]
In Pokémon Diamond Version and Pokémon Pearl Version and Pokémon Platinum Version, the player can obtain decorations by either trading Spheres to various merchants in the Underground or from Mr. Goods at Hearthome City for achieving certain accomplishments. In the remakes Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, decorations are used in the Grand Underground.
Some of the decorations include traps, which are used to prevent others from stealing one's flag.
Anime[]
Decorations are almost never seen in Pokémon the Series. However, Keanu's Secret Base is shown in "A Three Team Scheme" and has a few items, such as a Skitty TV.
Manga[]
In "The Final Battle VIII", Sapphire sees all of the decorations that Ruby has put up in her Secret Base. The decorations include a few items with a Poké Ball symbol: a table, on which it covers the surface; two round chairs, each with a seat covered by a Poké Ball; and a pillow. Besides the Poké Ball pillow, there are four other pillows, one of which has a pattern reminiscent of a Zigzagoon's. A Seviper poster is hung on the right wall. There are mats depicting musical notes. There are five Pokémon Dolls sitting atop a podium, accessible from steps on each side. The dolls are, from left to right: Marill, Jigglypuff, Mudkip, Torchic, and Swablu. Several balloons are lined against a corner of the wall.
