This is a transcript of the Pokémon: DP Sinnoh League Victors episode: "The Fleeing Tower of Sunyshore!".

[The scene starts with a highlight of the previous episode.]

Volkner

You were brilliant, Ash. All of your spark, and that of your Pokémon. Watching you battle inspired me more than I can say.

Ash Ketchum

Thanks. Does that mean you'll have a Gym battle with me?

Volkner

Yes, and an electrifying one too.

Narrator

With his battle spark reignited, Volkner, leader of the Sunyshore Gym, accepts Ash's challenge. But, will Ash successfully earn his eighth badge? Stay tuned for the answer, and the excitement.

Sunyshore City's Gym referee

The battle between Ash, the challenger, and Volkner, the Gym Leader, will now get underway. Each side may use three Pokémon, and the match will be over when all three of either side's Pokémon are unable to battle. In addition, only the challenger will be allowed to substitute Pokémon.

Ash Ketchum

Just think. If I win this battle, we're in the Sinnoh league. You ready, Pikachu?

Ash's Pikachu

Go, Luxray!

Ash Ketchum

Grotle, I choose you!

Ash's Grotle

Grotle!

[The opening theme "We Will Carry On!" and title card plays.]

Brock

So that means Ash's putting his grass-type Grotle up against Volkner's Electric-type Luxray. It looks like a clear case of matching by type.

Flint

Yeah, but Volkner's strong. I just don't think type is going to be all that important. I'm so psyched!

Dawn

(Calling) Ash, come on and show him what you've got!

Dawn's Piplup

(Excited) Pip-Piplup!

Ash Ketchum

All right Grotle, use Razor Leaf!

Volkner

Luxray, dodge and use Spark!

[Luxray dodges Razor Leaf and hits Grotle with Spark.]

Ash Ketchum

Grotle!

Ash's Pikachu

Pika?!

Proprietor

Hm?

[In a separate room, The Proprietor and another man watch the action on the monitor.]

Brock

Oh wow! That was some Spark.

Dawn

It sure was, but with Spark, I guess it was not very effective.

Dawn's Piplup

Piplup.

Flint

Just wait! See, Volkner's only beginning to get warmed up.

Volkner

All right, Ash, your next move?

Ash Ketchum

(To himself) Well, I knew it wasn't going to be easy... (Aloud) Ha. So, we'll just work harder! All right, Grotle, let's show them what we can do!

Ash's Grotle

Grotle!

[The lights go off in the gym, the bar, and across the whole of Sunyshore City.]

Cleaning Mech

Power decreasing.

[The Ref-Bot is knocked out.]

Dawn

What happened to the lights?

Dawn's Piplup

(Worried) Piplup.

Ash Ketchum

What's going on, Volkner? That's weird.

Ash's Pikachu

(Confused) Pika?

Volkner

Not sure. I guess we're going to have to put our battle on hold until I figure this out.

[Volkner is trying to fix the power supply.]

Flint

(Annoyed) Come on! Don't keep us waiting at a time like this.

Volkner

I'm doing all I can. All right, it looks like the gym's been left completely without power.

Everyone

Huh?

[Volkner and Flint heave to pull the doors open.]

Volkner and Flint

One, two, go!

Flint

Automatic doors are a pain when they're not automatic.

[]

Officer Jenny

Volkner, we've got problems!

[Brock is instantly infatuated and clasps Officer Jenny's hand, putting his other hand on his heart.]

Brock

Wow! Officer Jenny! I could never be without power when I gaze into your eyes! It's like...

[Croagunk stabs him, causing him to scream and fall. Croagunk drags him across the ground, croaking.]

Brock

...the opposite of this.

Volkner

Jenny, what's wrong?

Officer Jenny

I regret to inform you that all the power in Sunyshore city has been cut off.

Everyone

(Yelping in shock)

Flint

That's awful!

[Cut to the conveyor belt stopping, with the cleaning mech on it.]

Volkner

The thing is...Sunyshore City is run entirely on solar power. The solar panels, positioned everywhere, collect the sun's energy and send it to Sunyshore tower, which then functions as a power plant for the entire city. So that means something must have happened at Sunyshore Tower. I'll investigate. Raichu, quick!

Volkner's Raichu

Rai, Rai!

[The ground starts shaking. Everyone calls out in shock again.]

Dawn

Look! The tower!

[Smoke surrounds Sunyshore Tower. Cracks form around the walls. The bottom of the tower converts into a box on wheels.]

Flint

All right, what's going on here?!

Jessie

Listen, to the wisdom from the top of the tower.

James

Our diabolical plan is beginning to flower!

Jessie

On the wind!

James

Past the stars!

Meowth

Fight the power!

Jessie

There's no electricity over there.

James

And wouldn't you know? None over there!

Jessie

A black out by any other name's just as black!

James

When it comes to chaos, we've got the knack!

Jessie

Jessie.

James

And James.

Meowth

Meowth, that's a name!

Meowth & James

Dun dun dun dun dun daaaaah!

Jessie

Putting the do-gooders in their place!

James

We're Team Rocket...

Ash Ketchum

Ash's Pikachu

(Angry) Pika-Pi!

Volkner

Team Rocket?

Brock

They're a group of thieves who steal other people's Pokémon.

Jessie

You lose! Correction, stealing Pokémon is not on our agenda today!

James

Nope! Rather, our current goal is tackling much more of a towering task, and I do mean towering!

Meowth

I hope you heard that play on words! 'cause when we take this tower you'll think we're the team of the hour!

Wobbuffet

Wob-bu!

Volkner

What was that?

Officer Jenny

So, that would lead me to believe that you're the ones who cut the power to the city!

Jessie

You were listening! You can hear and think!

James

We're stealing this tower of power and all of its perks. But we won't waste a watt so don't waste your time worrying your twerpish heads!

Meowth

'cause this baby's headed for headquarters stat! Gotta scat!

[The tower starts to drive toward Ash's gang. They scream and run away as the tower rolls across the street.]

Team Rocket

Keep this tower moving!

[Everyone braces themselves from the smoke.]

Ash Ketchum

They burn me up!

Ash's Pikachu

(Furious) Pika...

[The crater in which Sunyshore Tower is built on appears.]

Volkner

I will not let my tower wind up in the hands of criminals, like them! Raichu, let's go!

Volkner's Raichu

Rai, Rai!

[Volkner and Raichu set off.]

Flint

I'm coming too!

Ash Ketchum

Me too!

Ash's Pikachu

Pikachu!

Dawn's Piplup

(Determined) Piplup!

[Everyone except Officer Jenny follows Volkner to Sunyshore Tower.]

Officer Jenny

But how?!

Nurse Joy

Officer Jenny!

Officer Jenny

Nurse Joy!

[Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy meet up. Cut to Sunyshore tower and Team Rocket.]

Jessie

Feeling good, looking great and flying right. Let's high-tail it home to headquarters!

Meowth

And now that the Sunyshore tower's going be known as the Team Rocket tower, we'll finally have some practical power and real clout! Know what that means?

[Team Rocket's dream plays. A chalk drawing of the hall shows. Giovanni, originally sat on the desk, zips in-front of his desk and snuggles himself on the floor.]

James

Our floors will be so warm and toasty, the boss will prefer to sleep here than at home in his own bed!

[The desk is replaced by a cooking stove. Giovanni cooks from a pan.]

James

And to satisfy his culinary urges, gourmet stoves to cook his latest creation.

[Giovanni takes his uniform and apron off, with an elated look as he jumps into the bathtub.]

Meowth

And a hot water bathtub heater to soak away the stress of the day. Guess what he'll say?

[Cut to a close-up of Giovanni.]

Giovanni (In Meowth's voice)

Thanks to Meowth and friends, my relaxation's a no-brainer and I'm using clean energy and saving the environment at the same time!

[the dream ends. Cut to the Sunyshore Tower driving.]

Meowth

If our future was any brighter, we'd need shades, baby! And we all know what that means, now don't we, my peeps?

Team Rocket

Climb the ladder of success. Leave the twerps behind!

Wobbuffet

Wob-buffet!

[Team Rocket laughs as the tower makes a turn. Ash's gang follow the tower's track.]

Flint

What in the world are they going to do with Sunyshore tower?

[Raichu and Pikachu run ahead. They stop and look up in shock, followed by the rest of the gang. Sunyshore Tower is inserted into the rocket launcher.]

Volkner

It's a rocket!

[The rocket converts into take-off mode. Jessie and James are on the monitors.]

James

Energy absorbers, normal. Power supply, normal. All systems ready for take off, stat!

[Blueprint screens appear.]

Jessie

Excellent. Who needs help when we've got a rocket in our team pocket?

Wobbuffet

Wobbuffet!

Meowth

Okey doke, it's time for the official countdown!

[The launcher pod retracts. The heroes run as fast as they can toward the rocket.]

Meowth

T-minus Ten... Nine... Eight... Seven... Six...

Volkner

No, that rocket's going to take off!

Ash Ketchum

Not if I've got anything to say about it!

Meowth

Five... Four... Three... Two... One... Blast off!

[The rocket jets fire. Flint runs to the barricade and jumps as he clings on to the rocket.]

Volkner

Raichu, jump!

[Volkner and Raich scale the rocket.]

Ash Ketchum

C'mon, Pikachu!

Ash's Pikachu

Pika!

[Ash and Pikachu make it. Dawn, Piplup and Brock, too late, brace themselves as Rocket jet fuel expels into their faces.]

Dawn

Ash, no!

[Cut to outside the Pokemon Center, where Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy are running toward.]

Officer Jenny

I don't get it. Why wouldn't the generator in the Pokémon Center be working either?

Nurse Joy

Well, I've got everyone in Sunyshore city working to bring it back online!

[The two suddenly notice the rocket being fired into the air and watch on, shocked.]

Officer Jenny

What's that?!

[On the rocket, Volkner climbs up. Ash is further ahead.]

Volkner

Ash, are you okay?

Ash Ketchum

I'm fine!

Flint

Good! Just make sure you keep moving...

[A gust of wind blows Flint off course. He screams as he falls.]

Volkner

Flint, no!

Ash Ketchum

Flint!

[Flint splashes into the water.]

Ash Ketchum

Flint! Oh no!

[In slow motion, Ash also loses grip and falls, but Volkner grabs his arm and saves him.]

Volkner

I'm going to pull you up, Ash!

Ash Ketchum

Volkner!

[Volkner pulls Ash up successfully.]

Ash Ketchum

Thanks, Volkner! That was close!

Volkner

Yes, but you're okay now. (Points to a white block on his right) Over there, I'm sure that's the service entrance!

[They look at the white door Volkner is pointing at.]

Volkner

I should know. I did build the thing after all. Ash, let's go!

Ash Ketchum

Right!

[In the water, Flint splashes out.]

Flint

Man, that was awful!

Brock

(Off-screen) Flint!

Flint

Huh?

[Dawn and Brock are standing beside the sea.]

Dawn

Are you all right?

Dawn's Piplup

(Concerned) Piplup!

Flint

Yeah, I'm fine! (Waves)

Brock

That's great.

[Dawn, Piplup and Brock look up as Sunyshore Tower leaves the sky. Inside the tower, Ash, Volkner and their Pokemon investigate.]

Ash Ketchum

I sure hope Flint's okay.

Ash's Pikachu

Pika.

Volkner

He's a big boy. Don't worry about it.

Volkner's Raichu

Rai.

Volkner

It looks like they've somehow rigged it to control the tower from the observatory.

[The rocket tilts. They all scream and slide across the floor.]

Volkner

OK, looks like we've leveled out.

[The rocket propels straight across.]

James

Pure genius! No matter which tilt the tower takes, our seating stays straight!

Meowth

Dig it. We got a million ways to use the groovy juice this airborne baby packs!

Jessie

Plenty of pure power, a clean machine, and a safe sound strategy make a tip-top team!

Wobbuffet

Wob-bu!

Team Rocket

A speed demon's dream!

[At the Pokemon Center...]

Officer Jenny

Huh? Volkner and Ash are in the tower?

Flint

Right. But if I know my buddy Volkner, he'll have that tower back in no time.

[Nursy Joy arrives, holding a plug.]

Nurse Joy

Okay, everything's ready to go.

Brock

Yay! Nurse Joy!

[Brock is instantly attracted, kneeling while looking up to her and grabbing her arm.]

Brock

One look at you, and my power meter's on ten! You give me such a jolt...

[Croagunk stabs him, causing him to scream and fall. Croagunk drags him across the ground, croaking.]

Brock

Along with you- know- who...!

[Nurse Joy gives the plug to Officer Jenny.]

Officer Jenny

Thank you. Since the backup generator here at the Pokémon Center has broken down...

[Officer Jenny connects the plug into the power generator.]

Officer Jenny

..they've been working non-stop to get it back online.

Nurse Joy

Unfortunately, there are a lot of Pokémon here that need serious care, and they can't afford to be without it much longer.

Nurse Joy

Which leaves us with only one thing to do!

Dawn

What's that, Joy?

Dawn's Piplup

Piplup?

[Two bicycles appear. The back wheel from each bike connects to the generator.]

Officer Jenny

We use these!

Flint

Got it! People power! Great idea! I like it!

[Flint sits on the green bicycle.]

Flint

You may not know this, but I used to be quite the cyclist back when! All riiiight!

[Flint starts pedaling. The bar on the generator from Flint's bike raises.]

Flint

C'mon Brock, time to get with the program and grab a bike!

Brock

Huh? Uh, sure.

Flint

It would help to pedal. (Strains as he pedals.)

Brock

All right!

[Flint and Brock both pedal, with both bars raised up to near full.]

Nurse Joy

Wonderful! Thank you both. Now keep it up, boys!

Brock & Flint

You've got it!

Dawn

Nurse Joy, there's got to be something else I can do, please?

Dawn's Piplup

(Keen) Piplup?

[Inside the tower...]

Volkner

Ash, I feel badly that our gym battle was so rudely interrupted...please forgive me.

Ash Ketchum

Hey, no problem. We've gotta get the tower back, so don't worry about it.

Volkner

Right. Our sunny shores must be protected!

Volkner's Raichu

Rai!

Ash Ketchum

Hey, is that where the name comes from?

Volkner

You hit it right on the head. Sunyshore city is known for its bright sunlight. It's the perfect name for a perfect City.

Ash Ketchum

So then, that must be why you built all the solar panels in Sunyshore Tower, right?

Volkner

That's right. The truth is Sunyshore tower is what makes Sunyshore City. That's why I have to get it back.

Ash Ketchum

Got it.

Ash's Pikachu

Pikachu.

[At the Pokemon Center, Brock's bar goes down.]

Brock

Man...I'm so tired, I can hardly move my feet.

Flint

That is unacceptable! Now show me some guts!

Brock

I'm fresh out of guts.

[In the foreground, Dawn and Piplup are carrying towels.]

Dawn

Piplup, let's hurry!

Dawn's Piplup

Piplup!

Nurse Joy

Please, Brock.

Brock

Hm?

Nurse Joy

You can do it. I believe in you, Brock.

Brock

(Affectionately) Right!

[Steam comes out of Brock's nostrils. Brock pedals with all his might.]

Brock

Yes, I shall pedal, with every last ounce of strength I can muster up!

Flint

I like it!

[Brock's bar raises to the top.]

Flint

Blow the top off that meter and don't stop pedaling until you do!

[Back at the tower, Ash and Volkner come across a closed door.]

Volkner

We can get to the observatory through here. Ready to charge?

Ash Ketchum

Ready!

[A cage falls down and traps the entireg group. They scream.]

Jessie

Now isn't that a shame? We've been watching you loser-types since you glommed on board!

James

But I regret to inform you you've glommed your last bout of glommage!

Ash Ketchum

Quick! Pikachu, Thunderbolt!

Volkner

Raichu! Use Thunder!

[Thunderbolt and Thunder do no damage. Instead they are lured into a wire which connects to a power source.]

Meowth

We recycle every bit of bolts and jolts you can dish out! You know what that means...Team Rocket's feeling keen and going green, what a scene!

Ash Ketchum

(Angrily) No you don't! It's up to you, Gible. I choose you!

Ash's Gible

Gible!

Ash Ketchum

Now Gible, use Rock Smash!

[Gible breaks the cage with the move, delighting Ash's group and shuddering Team Rocket.]

Meowth

Hey no fair! We don't want to deal with a Pokémon with teething problems!

Volkner

Gible, that was excellent!

[Gible then chomps through the door to the room where Team Rocket is. It chews all over the rocket.]

Meowth

Chomp on your own rocket!

[The rest of Ash's gang traverse through the doorway.]

James

That's expensive, you twit!

Jessie

You have an eating disorder!

Ash Ketchum

Gible, return!

[Ash returns Gible.]

Ash Ketchum

Team Rocket, time for you to return Sunyshore Tower!

Ash's Pikachu

(Angry) Pika-Pika!

Jessie

Time to return you!

James

There's nothing worse than a defective twerp!

Jessie

Seviper, you're on!

James

Carnivine, come out for the fight!

[Jessie deploys Seviper and James deploys Carnivine from their Poke Balls. Carnivine gnaws James.]

James

Wrong again! Not out for the bite!

Volkner

Raichu, use Thunder!

Ash Ketchum

Pikachu, Thunderbolt, let's go!

[Thunder and Thunderbolt lures into the power source instead of Team Rocket. Volkner and Ash are shocked.]

Meowth

Hello? When you truly go green, you recycle everything!

Ash's Pikachu

(Determined) Pika!

Volkner's Raichu

(Determined) Rai!

Jessie

Seviper, use Poison Tail!

James

And Carnivine, use Vine Whip!

[Seviper and Carnivine hit both Raichu and Pikachu with their moves. Volkner and Ash check on their respective Pokemon.]

Ash Ketchum

Pikachu, are you okay?

Volkner

C'mon, Raichu, wake up!

Meowth

Guess they got bored!

Jessie

Seviper, dear, use Bite!

James

Follow suit, Carnivine!

[Seviper and Carnivine close in, preparing to bite.]

Ash Ketchum

OK, Grotle, block them both!

Ash's Grotle

Grotle!

[Grotle rams into Seviper and Carnivine, stopping them.]

Ash Ketchum

Grotle, awesome! Next, follow up with Razor Leaf, let's go!

Ash's Grotle

Grotle! Gro...

[Grotle glows white and starts evolving! Team Rocket yelp in shock while Ash and Pikachu exclaim in delight.]

Ash Ketchum

Grotle!

Volkner

Grotle's evolving!

[Grotle evoles into Torterra.]

Ash's Torterra

Torterraaaa!

Ash Ketchum

Torterra!

Ash's Pikachu

(Elated) Pika!

[Torterra uses Leaf Storm. It whips up a pile of leaves into a cyclone. It steers the cyclone into Seviper and Carnivine, colliding them into the Team Rocket members.]

Volkner

Wow, Torterra used Leaf Storm!

Ash Ketchum

Awesome! Torterra, that's so cool that you can use Leaf Storm!

Ash's Torterra

Torrrr!

Jessie

Hey, time out! Isn't sudden evolution against the rules?

James

If you twerps insist, the least you can do is use an Electric-type move so we can recycle it, sheesh!

Wobbuffet

Wob-bu!

Meowth

Well, we're all just getting warmed up! (To Carnivine and Seviper) Now on your feet and fight!

[Carnivine and Seviper obey.]

Ash Ketchum

Now Torterra, use Leaf Storm!

[Torterra hits Seviper and Carnivine again with thw new move, colliding into Team Rocket who are then blasted through the tower and off.]

Team Rocket

We're blasting off again!

Wobbuffet

Wob-buffet!

[The hole that is caused inside the rocket creates severe turbulence. Ash, Raichu and Pikachu tries to hang on to a struggling Torterra. Volkner, also struggling on the cockpit, presses the right button. The hole closes down completely. Ash and the Pokemon breathe a sigh of relief.]

Ash Ketchum

We did it, Volkner!

Ash's Pikachu

(Relieved) Pika-Pika!

Volkner

There's still a small problem. We've got to get the tower back to Sunyshore City. I've got it! We've still got their rocket, right? Raichu, Pikachu, I need your help!

Volkner's Raichu

(Determined) Rai-Rai!

Ash's Pikachu

(Determined) Pika-Pika!

[Back at the Pokemon Center, Brock meter goes down again.]

Brock

(Breaks voice) I've never been this exhausted in my entire life!

Dawn

Brock, we need more power. C'mon, hang in there!

Dawn's Piplup

(Encouraging) Piplup!

Brock

You don't understand...

Nurse Joy

Brock, please? Do it for me. Can't you see I need you?

Brock

(Infatuated) You need me? (Aggressively) I'll bike until I burst these barrrrs!

[Brock pedals with all his might. His meter raises up to full.]

Flint

Way to go! Keep it up!

[Through the window. something bright is coming across the sky, which Dawn and Nurse Joy notice. Sunyshore Tower can be be seen returning to the city. Dawn and Nurse Joy take a closer look out the window.]

Dawn

Look at that!

Nurse Joy

Sunyshore tower!

Brock and Flint

Huh?

[The rocket gets extremely close to them.]

Dawn

And it's headed right for us!

[Dawn and Nurse Joy duck to brace themselves. Suddenly, the lights go back on.]

Flint

All right! We've got power!

Nurse Joy

It looks like they were able to fix the generator. Oh thank goodness!

[The workers celebrate and cheer.]

Proprietor

(To Officer Jenny, thumb up.) That's teamwork!

[The rocket struggles to tilt upward. Inside the rocket, Pikachu, Luxray, Raichu use their Electric-type moves on the Power source.]

Volkner

We're passing over the Sunyshore Gym! Braking system engage! Prepare to land!

[Volkner steers the rocket, trying to lure the crosshairs on the screen toward the target marker. As the rocket tilts upward, Ash slams into the wall. As Pikachu slides down, Ash rescues him.]

Ash Ketchum

Pikachu!

[Pikachu continues using Thunderbolt.]

Ash Ketchum

Volkner!

Volkner

We're fine, Ash. Please try and have a little faith in me! After all, remember I did build this tower!

[Pikachu, Luxray, Raichu continue to use their Electric-type moves on the Power source. Meanwhile, Brock, Dawn and Flint run outside and look up at the rocket gasping in awe, while Volkner continues controlling the rocket and the Pokemon generating electricity. On Volkner's screen, the crosshairs turn red and flash. Volkner pushes the levers forward.]

Volkner

Go!

[Dawn, Brock and Flint brace themselves from the firing jets as the rocket swoops across them and pulls up, preparing to land. The rocket lands with a heavy thud. Flint, Brock, Dawn and Piplup brace themselves as the smoke clears, then exclaim in delight as the rocket containing Sunyshore Tower lands perfectly.]

Dawn

They made it!

Dawn's Piplup

(Excited) Piplup!

[The shutters inside Sunyshore Tower open, revealing that Volkner, Ash and their Pokemon are okay.]

Ash Ketchum

(To Volkner) Way to go! Awesome!

Volkner

Thanks.

Ash's Pikachu

Pikachu!

[At sunset, the two groups meet together.]

Brock

Wow! So Grotle has evolved into Torterra!

Ash Ketchum

Yup!

Dawn

(Interested) Torterra.

[Dawn scans the Pokemon using her Pokedex.]

Pokédex

Torterra. The Continent Pokémon. Its large back and sedentary nature offer an ideal place for smaller Pokémon to build their nests.

Dawn

Nice to meet you, Torterra!

Dawn's Piplup

(Excited) Piplup!

Ash's Torterra

Torterra!

Volkner

Ash, as you can see, I'm going to need some time before we can have our battle, but I'll let you know the minute I get things back in order around here.

Ash Ketchum

No problem! And in the meantime, I'll be training hard for when you're ready to go!

Ash's Pikachu

(Determined) Pikachu!

Volkner

Good!

Flint

And Dawn, you're going to enter the Grand Festival, aren't you? knock them dead!

Dawn

Thanks!

Dawn's Piplup

(Excited) Piplup-Piplup!

Narrator

With the skilled teamwork of Ash and Volkner, Sunyshore tower is safe from Team Rocket's clutches. Our heroes now set off for the lakeside resort and the Grand Festival. Will Dawn emerge victorious there? Tune in next time to find out.
