Cute Charm is an ability like Attract, but instead infatuates your Pokémon of the opposite gender if the opponent is physically attacked.
From Pokémon Emerald onwards, if the Pokémon with Cute Charm is first in the party, there is a 2/3 (66.67%) chance that the game will force a wild Pokémon to be the opposite gender to the Pokémon with Cute Charm, regardless of gender ratios. This means that a Pokemon species with a 50/50 gender ratio (such as Pidgey) now has a 5/6 (83.33%) chance to be encountered male if the Pokémon with Cute Charm is female and an 83.33% chance to be encountered female if the Pokémon with Cute Charm is male. This does not affect genderless Pokémon or gender-exclusive Pokémon (such as Chansey or Rufflet) if the Pokémon cannot be that gender.
