Curse works differently for Ghost-types than for other types. When Curse is used by a Ghost-type Pokémon, it will cause the user to lose half of its HP to afflict a curse on the target. This curse will cause the afflicted Pokémon to lose HP that is equal to 1/4 the amount of points of their max HP at the end of every turn. However, when Curse is used by a Pokémon that isn't a Ghost-type, it will lower the user's Speed by 1 stage, but will raise the user's Attack and Defense by 1 stage each.
