The Creation Trio consists of Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. They are a group of Legendary Pokémon that appear in the Sinnoh region.


Pokémon Type Ability Description
Steel/Dragon Pressure Dialga is the Steel/Dragon-type member of the trio. It is said that this Pokémon represents time and has control over it. Its signature move is Roar of Time.
Hidden Ability: Telepathy
Water/Dragon Pressure Palkia is the Water/Dragon-type member of the trio. It is said that this Pokémon represents space and has the power to create alternate realities. Its signature move is Spacial Rend.

Altered Form Giratina
Ghost/Dragon Pressure Giratina is the Ghost/Dragon-type member of the trio. It is said that this Pokémon represents antimatter. Giratina can only be in its Origin Forme when in its home, the Distortion World, or when holding a Griseous Orb. Giratina is able to travel through and control dimensions besides those of time and space. When in its Origin Forme, it is able to pass through dimensions at will, however, it will turn back to its Altered Forme due to the gravity change from the Distortion World. Its signature move is Shadow Force.

  • All three of them have an a at the end of their names.
  • Giratina is the only member that has multiple forms.
  • They are all secondary Dragon type, a trait shared by the Tao Trio. However, the Tao Trio all have Dragon as their primary type. Dragon type may be a reference to their enormous power and ancient age, as well as a mechanical explanation of their natural might besides their designs.
  • Palkia is the only member who didn't have a unique type combination in the generation it was introduced.
  • It is the only Legendary group, which has been featured in 3 movies in a row, actually related to each other making Movies 10, 11 and 12 a trilogy. Also they have the most appearances in movies, not mentioning cameos - 4 (though Giratina appeared in 3 movies).
