This Quagsire is a water/ground-type Pokémon owned by Crasher Wake.

Biography[]

Crasher Wake, who was in Pastoria City Gym, greeted Diamond, Pearl and Platinum with his Pokémon, Floatzel, Quagsire and Gyarados.[1] When the Gym Statue appeared to remind Platinum of the rules, it explained while Platinum knew that Crasher Wake had Gyarados, Floatzel and Quagsire, she could not know which two of these would he sent in the battle against her.[2]

When his Floatzel was defeated, Crasher Wake sent Quagsire during his Gym Battle against Platinum. Quagsire and Platinum's Empoleon used Blizzard, which collided. However, Empoleon was exhausted from her previous battle, and soon fell down, defeated. Platinum sent Torterra, which she borrowed from Diamond. Quagsire and Tru clashed with each other. However, Quagsire took grasp of Tru, who was several times heavier, and managed to hurl it away. Tru accidentally pulled Platinum, too, and they fell in the water. Since Platinum was covered in mud, the water turned muddy. Crasher Wake anticipated her arrival, so his Quagsire could finish Tru off with Blizzard. However, he noticed they were not coming back, and sent sailors to take them out of the water. Much to his surprise, Platinum actually discarded her rubber suit and dived behind him with Tru, then emerged out. Tru used Mega Drain, which quickly defeated Quagsire, thus making Platinum win the battle.[3]

Crasher Wake had his Floatzel and Quagsire use Rain Dance at Lake Valor, to summon the water and renew the lake, which had evaporated.[4][5][6]

Crasher Wake confronted Team Galactic commanders at the Spear Pillar. He sent Floatzel and Quagsire, who teamed up with Gardenia's Roserade and Cherubi, to battle Mars' Pokémon.[7] Since Cyrus was conducting his plans, space and time was being warped, so they could not reach him. The Gym Leaders went through the tunnels to get to Cyrus, and had their Pokémon attack the Red Chain to shatter it. Quagsire was damaging the Red Chain, until it snapped.[8] In fact, Quagsire and the others shattered the fake, incomplete chain, leaving Cyrus to control Dialga and Palkia with the true Red Chain.[9]
